He won the league and started their advancements in Europe. Did badly at villa. But no point discrediting rangers stint.I'll wait patiently for your explanation for posting me a turd in response to my post about Rangers then.
Well weather seems to now be forecast to arrive a but sooner and be better by morning, buts thsts just off the bbc
Well if the BBC say so then it must be true.
Robins et al were a good team, then they weren’t . Robins didn’t have the men in place to take us forward. Not Doug’s fault. I think he knew where this was all going once the team split.Hated SISU and no one is more pleased than me they have gone.
Have always praised King for his commercial acumen, what he has done regarding off field improvements and the transfer fees he got for Vic and Gus. My concerns are regarding changing too much too quickly on the footballing side of things.
CEOs by their nature have a prepared narrative that shows them in a very positive light. Often that can involve blaming previous regimes, leaving out crucial facts or peddling half-truths. Robins signed off on all the players-almost certainly true, but no mention of his real involvement in recruitment.
I am not presenting just beliefs, I am quoting what King gave us as fact and how these facts have been refuted regarding a couple of his statements. Also the elite club model is documented as leaving the Head Coach to do what it says on the tin, coach. The transparency part is simply not being demonstrated.
The only speculative part is that Robins was at fault for everything (which is my opinion) but I find it hard to believe that one man is at fault for everything. On the one hand King says Robins signed off on all the players, the next they are a top 6 deck. I have said before Robins had a template regarding recruitment that he never moved from (except according to King) this season. Little experience, no loans and players seemingly bought because they will be developed and add value. That is not the Robins way.
I think seven years of continuous success, nearly reaching a cup final and some of the best football I have seen in my lifetime are the reason for the gates going up.
I have seen us reach a pinnacle with Jimmy Hill only for the football to turn drab and the fans drift away.
Obviously, I am a fan of Robins, Viveash, Lawrence and Boddy and felt it is important to defend their legacy.
I'm not even saying King isn't going to get us promoted eventually as that is what we all want. Fingers crossed.

QPR !! Never looked back ?? You need to look again ?People said the same last year, when he was getting 10/20 minutes..QPR game, started 2 goals, never looked back.
Forrest had over six loans when they went up. We nearly went up with three brilliant loans and two super stars of course.I'm a fan of King. I like a lot the ambition he has for our Club.
He has largely put the money where his mouth is & I think been part of the process which has provided
a better stadium for match day and presided over record average attendances.
He reminds me of the Forest owner although unfortunately nowhere near as wealthy.
Look where Forest are now !
What I said was that he didn't do a great job. He will forever have a place in the fans' hearts because his one and only trophy was a first league title for ten years, but most importantly it prevented Celtic from claiming the Holy Grail of Old Firm football, the ten-in-a-row. Rangers didn't get beyond the qualifying stages of the Champions League campaign following that title win, and their results in the Europa League were nothing to write home about. If you spend time as an Old Firm manager and only come out with one trophy, then you haven't done a great job. No discrediting of anything in what I said.He won the league and started their advancements in Europe. Did badly at villa. But no point discrediting rangers stint.

You mean he didn't?But there are people who blindly back King, so I'm not arguing for the sake of it, as far as Im concerned it needs calling out, especially when they try to tarnish a succesful era in the process.
We've had someone try and claim hes the reason our crowds are up, they'll be claiming he scored the winner in the 87 Cup final next!
Analysis of weather forecasting indicates the BBC are not to be wholly trusted following their switch from the Met Office (top of recent analysis) to the American firm for cost reasons.Well if the BBC say so then it must be true.
It wasn’t ripped up?Scouting and coaching. We had outperformed any CCFC side in thirty years. There was no sense in ripping it up. Look you’re clearly not here for a sensible conversation just trying to do the mini Grendel thing so I’m not going to engage any more.
Fixed it for you.Analysis of weather forecasting indicatesthe BBC are not to bewhollytrustedfollowing their switch from the Met Office (top of recent analysis) to the American firm for cost reasons.
I'd like to think you're joking here, but I fear not.He won the league! Stopped Celtic dominance
I bet u r one of those closet Celtic fans on here
If you look at Robins interviews forensically, (yes I am that sad), you could see he was not happy with what was happening behind the scenes and it looks pretty clear to me he was being undermined. It appears Robins has a new number 2 at Stoke if the rumours are correct, but we could not find one, unless cost was the reason? I don't buy the "They all wanted to be number one" claim.Robins et al were a good team, then they weren’t . Robins didn’t have the men in place to take us forward. Not Doug’s fault. On the last bit think King was surprised as think he looked at it extremely black and white. If you look at Robins interviews forensically, (yes I am that sad), you could see he was not happy with what was happening behind the scenes and it looks pretty clear to me he was being undermined. I feel once Adi left, the writing was on the wall for Robins. Some posters who have close contacts with the club were indicating that was the case.
I would have wanted an experienced number 2 for Robins but that did not materialise. King said we couldn't find one? How strange is that?
Every Manager has a bad period, even Pep at Man City. I am not comparing Robins to Pep just illustrative of how even the best Managers can go through a lean period.
King said he was surprised at the reaction to Robins sacking. As in touch as Mike McGinnity then. I m yet to find anyone in football outside of some Coventry fans who thought it was a good idea.
Onwards and upwards with Lamps hopefully.

Don't use the bridges. Come off M5 at J8 onto M50 then follow your Sat Navs down to Wye Valley joining the M4 at Newport.Keep an eye on the weather folks, we are supposed to be crossing the old bridge which I suspect maybe a problem if the weather forecast is correct
He left before King took over ffs.Sure. We never moved to a head of recruitment model or a DoF model that’s “modern”. Ady Viveash is still here. It’s 2021. I hope Covid ends soon.
Lovely stuff, same people still crying about robins being sacked.
Deffo odds on your head explodes by March 8th
Hope your phone torch is fully charged to wave it about to remember him.
It's literally every fucking thread, same 4 or 5 people. He's gone. Get over it.
Why are you so bothered? It's a cov forum . You old firm guys are weird.I'd like to think you're joking here, but I fear not.
He won the title for the first time in ten years, in what is, at best, a two-horse race. No prizes for guessing who's won the league since. Bit of a stretch to say that solitary win stopped Celtic dominance, more like a bump in the road. And you've got the cheek to accuse others of arguing for the sake of it. Celtic are currently light years ahead of Rangers and that will continue until a True Blue rides in to town with saddlebags bulging with gold.
Rangers are a shadow of their former selves, but I do have a soft spot for them, heavily influenced by my two bluenose brothers-in-law. They've had some magnificent players in the time I've been in Scotland - de Boer, van Bronckhorst, McCoist, Souness, Gascoigne and the peerless Laudrup to name a few.
Please stop talking shite.
No rational response so wheel out the ad hominem...Why are you so bothered? It's a cov forum . You old firm guys are weird.

Think that most pubs in the city centre are fairly pro most teams. They get a little angst for their big games like Bristol & Cardiff.Any recommendations for pubs in the city centre showing the game tomorrow that I can take a 14 year old in?
