How many goals did he score in his last season that was so poor?

Seven I think.

Punching above their weight?!

Look at their squad and squads of past seasons, if anything they've vastly underachieved. He's only got into their first team in the past month and their fans wouldn't class him as one of their best players.

We have an ample replacement in JOB who throughout his career has performed better and at a higher level than Baker.

Baker was average under Pressley, it was only in the brief stint under Robins playing in a 4-2-3-1 where he performed, funnily enough that's the same system MK play. So he would more than likely be ineffectual in our current 4-4-2 hit it and hope system.

I

Their fans really rate him.
They even have a song about the fact they managed to get him for free from us

Well no one would have paid for him so I don't know why.

Has he only actually scored one league goal this season?

Both you and I know that he would "walk", back into our current team so quit the bullshit. There was only ever one reason why he was got shot of.

He is over rated. His distribution and first touch was always poor. Yes he is adequate as a league one player but would he make a significant difference to the team? I really doubt it to be honest.

Assessing his performances as opposed to goals.

He became a sideways-Sammy mark II, compared to the brave, attacking, forward thinking player he was a few years prior.

As alluded to earlier, he's got this 'idol status' for good use of social media, and not much more.

Just what we are missing, oh and a goalkeeper, a pacey striker, a defensive midfielder and a couple of wingers. Apart from that just what we are missing...

Who has scored less goals and made less assists than our creative midfielder?

Ok

Is that why we are struggling to create even a shot on target some games? The way some of you are talking you would think that we had a better midfield this season.

Are you for real? of course he would make a difference, for one he has vision, he is able to turn a game in a second and produce something out of the ordinary. No wonder the Dons fans rate him.....and for free......God help us!!!!!

The amount of chances we create is all down to the way we play. Under Pressley there is no philosophy and hence we play the turgid football we've watched all season, although the switch from 5-3-2 to 4-4-2 has seen us have a few shots at the very least.

Baker wouldn't make a blind bit of difference.

So what happened at the beginning of last season with the attacking football philosophy?

It's shit all to with Pressley and more to do with our squad and making the best use (although he hasn't) with 'shit tools'.

No the amount of chances we create is down to having a poor team and in particular midfield, which is pedestrian. 442 barely been better than 532.

So the players we now have are better than Baker but look worse because of the way SP sets up the team? So would you like to remind us all who was manager last season when Baker was still playing for us?

Pressley was carried by Wilson and Clarke, that much is clear now.

Nominated for league 1player of the month, seems no one from CCfc made the cut

He was surplus to requirements. Our requirements are players who have no loyalty, put no effort into a game and rarely score. He failed on all counts.

That's such a daft statement it's hilarious. LOOK DEEPER.

How much deeper?

You said his replacements are better but doing worse because SP is our manager. But Baker played for SP last season. But it wasn't the fault of SP then. So he moves to a club made up of loans and freebies just like we are. His new fans seem to love having him there and they are looking good for promotion.

For the first part of last season we played a 4-4-2 pressing game where each individual knew exactly what they were meant to do, to Pressley's credit they were very well drilled and with this Baker played well, nothing special but well. When Clarke left and Wilson got injured this all fell apart and he changed up systems, tactics and players. The season then fell apart in sync with Pressley's judgement of tactics and how players should be used. After buying players for one 'system' he's cracked under pressure of trying to sure up last years leaky defence (using 5-3-2) and has gone full retard now that he has had to revert back to Football 101, the simplistic 4-4-2, up and at them kick and Rush shite. Not one player in that squad has played to their potential and unless you want to argue that they've all become shite overnight, the reason for this falls firmly at Pressley's feet. Therefore Baker wouldn't make a blind bit of difference as he wouldn't be utilised correctly in Pressley's current 'system' like he is in MK Dons.

I'll reiterate that this is a good squad and better than the majority in this division, it wouldn't even take a good manager to get the best out of them, even a novice like Lee Johnson at Oldham or Derry at County (Who are working miracles with recycled garbage footballers) could utilise this squad and have us in the play-offs.

How people can't see this truly baffles me.

Rant over.

Two things.

We never bought any players.

You seem to have changed your mind about Baker being shit. And yes I agree that he is clueless. We had the best strikeforce for the first half of the season. We should have been going for the top 6. But we let in too many goals.

What if the players are playing to their potential? And perhaps the reasons they ended up at cov is because they are shite? The squad is poor, but marginally better than the league table suggests.

Imo they aren't playing to their potential. They are not shite.
This is a squad that should be challenging for the top 6.

I liked him but then again I was told I know nothing about football because the replacements we got were class:laugh:

Glad for once I was right:)

Any experienced manager would be playing players in their natural positions and have us flying, I can think of at least half the managers in league one who would love to have half the players we have in their squads and who are doing better than we are.

Baker has had an exceedingly average career barring half a season at Stockport and the 2012/2013 season with us.
