And what's wrong with that? It's no different from Eakin saying we are playing Colchester when it's Cheltenham.

Two minutes into the game and he referred to 'here at The Ricoh!'

Over 500 tickets sold - fantastic following for that trek. Well done lads and lasses, you deserve a result for that effort - see you on the Monday for the Chesterfield game.

See us winning this. 0-4.

We score first goal, referee gives us everything, we get lots of luck, and score a worldly.

We win this and beat Chesterfield and sit pretty in the automatic places.

Then I wake up and find we lose and I question my sanity why I travel 300 miles on my birthday to watch this shit.

I hate the formation but would not be adverse to 3-5-2 on this occasion......spit! If doing this would go with the following.
Would try to get the Duck back in for a start too.

Burge GK
Grimmer RWB
Stokes LWB
Willis CB
Davies CB
MacDonald CB
Doyle DCM
Baylis DCM
McNulty ATT
Duck ATT
Beavon ST

Subs: O'Brien, Haynes, DKE, Stevenson. Shipley, Biamou, Ponticelli.
Having been at the Port Vale game I can definitely confirm Grimmer was Right Mid in a 4-4-2. he was actually our best attacking outlet if you take out the final ball (i know that sounds and probably is ridiculous).
If we go with wing backs I hope he doesn't go with Stokes as LWB. For all his defensive attributes, his positive threat is severely lacking and we'll end up going backwards sideways to Doyle who will do the same. Would have to be Haynes at LWB but wouldnt mind seeing Willis, Rod and Stokes as the back three.
I finally thought I would get to tick off Carlisle from the 92 this season but with one thing or another I can't go. Safe travel to those making that incredible effort in these wintry conditions!

Carlisle impressed me when they came to the Ricoh in that they tried to play football and win the game. Although their style of football is different, their form is quite similiar to Port Vale - joint 6th in the form table over 8 games and like Port Vale, their away form is much better than at home. They score a lot and concede a lot - 54% of their games have 3+ goals and they haven't had a 0-0 all season. They have the 4th best attack and 7th worst defence in the league.

At home they have only won 3 games this season but their form is improving - W 2, D3, L1: GF 13, GA 8, in their last 6 home matches, scoring in each although they've also conceded in 83% of their home games with only Cheltenham and Yeovil failing to score against them.
They are very tight in the first half of games - only 3 goals conceded in the first half of home matches and start and end games very strongly with 26% of their goals in the first 15 minutes. 80% of their goals at home have been conceded in the 2nd half and they are particularly vulnerable straight after half time.

On paper this will be a tough game - Carlisle have only lost twice in 12 games and one of those was Luton and they are scoring an average of 2+ goals at home in their last 6 home matches, while we have now conceded in our last 8 matches. Hard to predict which way it will go but unlikely to be the borefest we saw at Port Vale.

Can't see us getting anything tbh. Our away attack is reliant on pace and quick breaks from winning the ball in midfield. As we are missing our most potent ball winner (and best player) and our paciest player, we've got very little to offer but a long balls.

MR has said that both Nazon and Ponticelli will feature over the next two games.

He is also hopeful Vincenti will be fit, but that they are still just waiting on the results of his scans.

All Coventry fans will now be in the seats.

If you purchased a standing ticket you've managed to save yourself a few quid!

Bloody hell they're keen! Still two days to go.

Hope they all have blankets and pillows and a flask of soup.

Well the cheeky buggers are now in the warmth of the roofed stand.

Although talking of blankets, a lot of people had them at Morecambe!

A win because we must. Players will have been given the riot act privately for that last performance.
Nazon will score. Maybe 0-2 or 1-3.

I prefer the dream version! Keep the faith, and well done for the effort!!

I'd love to see Kelly and Bayliss play as our central pairing when Kelly is back fit. Think it would bring out the best of both players. He's never going to drop Doyle though so i'll keep on dreaming.

POTG option available now at 3 quid extra.
Robbing bastards does it cost more to print tickets on the day, why do football clubs do that must put some people off.

Have never understood why they do this. Its a business, clubs need money, why put people off by charging more on the day?

When I go to watch Cov Rugger play it costs the same, when I go to the cinema it costs the same.
When I go to a West End show I can get it cheaper and get great seats then those who brought in advance.
Now if it was a near sell out I could understand it, but most clubs have hundreds if not thousands of seats empty.

The thing is football clubs and the police/security would much prefer it if fans purchased in advance. The problem for pay on the gate, especially for smaller clubs, is it means they don't know how much food and drink to order in.

If it was the same price on the day no one would really have a clue how many would turn up.

You could also argue it's only a £2 increase because there is no booking fee.

Game postponed anyone?

Bloody awful up this neck of the woods-supposed to be raining later but may be water-logged pitch?

Just standing in tjw queue at the Butts to get my ticket.
The Old man in front was buying some extra tickets for New year' day.
He moaned that he has had a season ticket for 35 years and that he objects to paying a booking fee when he has brought the ticket over the counter.
He also said for that reason he has had enough and will not be renewing next season.

Good. Get it off, get it off now. We need players and if we can play another game in two months time when we've signed 3 players that will improve us, then get it called off

Not going to be great though for those then going up on a wet and windy Tuesday night down the line. Going to cut the following drastically.
