It’s called business Nick, don’t laugh, and is a loan not a grant, there is this, not in my eyes, prestigious Rugby League World Cup game coming up in October and illustrates Andy Streets interest. that has to happen I assume Wasps have gone cap in hand to Street. Is that actually confirmed?
How the fuck are they loaning it when they still owe £35m to bondholders?
If Wasps will sort the fucking pitch before legal action?
Not sure if this is the right place for this but just saw on twitter someone highlighting the agenda from the West Midlands Combined Authority meeting yesterday. Within the pack at Agenda item 7 it reads as if Wasps have been granted a £12m loan.
Why does it say Ricoh in the document? Its nothing to do with wasos RFC as isn’t the training ground. Moonstone would receive the loan

How tall are you?I have just pinned a picture of Andy Street to a dart board and farted on it.
Cheersbecause it’s car park c
By grendelI’m told this relates to the hotel on car park c
It would be a loan which would need to be repaid and it may be to Moonstone not wasps. Given it was granted before the current wasps financial fiasco and work hasn’t started it may never get transferred and remain unused. If he wants a hotel he can pay for a hotel himself.
He’s received more public funds than track and trace.
Was about to 2 foot whoever walked into my office next.
Nick aka Gustavo
as it happens the rest of the office burst into “he’s Brazilian”

Looks like they’re getting it. Absolutely disgusting if thats the case
They are not getting it. it’s a loan for the hotel That’s not been built yet.Unbelievable , buy simply not surprising anymore

Looks like Wasps also tried to get funding for themselves and Hollywood Gaming to provide 'Spatial Audio' at the Ricoh...
The guy from JLR - 'NS pointed out that this is a commercial transaction between to companies that are looking for possible financial support for a proof of concept that they would benefit from commercially, questioning what is the role of the LEP in facilitating funding for this?'
Ah OK
Still , just punched my begonia and roundhouse kicked my hydrangea, which is unfortunate
Whats that? Spatial Audio?
like surround sound in 3D. Basically fitting a fancy sound system I’d guess.
Ah yeah I got that bit but didn't know how that would work with Wasps.
Unless it was for a function room etc etc.
Surely that must have expired by now. The excuse for the council rushing everything through was a hotel was needed for City of Culture. That's been and gone, as has the CWG, with seemingly zero progress. It will have a timescale that the work has to be authorised by before it’s withdrawn

Why would Richardson get a loan for that anyway, if he wants to build a hotel and profit from it shouldn't he be paying. Not like there isn't other people trying to build hotels in the area who have been turned down.
Yup, Wasps simply don't seem too keen on paying for anything for themselves -Are the minutes online? This is the sort of use of public funds I don’t get. I can almost understand somewhere like Coombe Abbey which has intrinsic value to the area. But this seems to be just a straight forward commercial venture which as you say other actors are willing and able to execute without help, why the need for funding?
This sort of money should be going towards infrastructure and decent employers, not 50 NMW jobs turning down beds. Same as the need to attract hotels to the centre, surely the point is you build somewhere that creates demand and the hotels build themselves?
They often have specials on newsbeat on BBCR1. Great that this is getting so much attention.
BBC radio 1 are covering it?
Doesn't look great. Think they are probably letting it grow as much as possible then cutting later this week so will be interesting to see after it's cut
