Yeah, true.

Not going to be successful is it. Nowt there in his favour at all.

Not only did he crash into him, he also lent into the player with his boot raised

I'm not sure. Looks like he just puts his weight (upper leg/backside) into the player to me. He's not actually made much contact with his boot/studs etc. Can see why the ref thought that though.

It looks better as screenshots doesn't it, for sure. On video, it looks like he has gone in with his studs.

Be interesting how the league officials see it.
