Desperate stuff.

You thought you were being smart asking for my source but hadn’t even considered I might have one or even more.

I didn’t reference CCFC players specifically although i;m struggling to see why they would be totally different to the broader football culture, not least because many of them are relatively new to Coventry City.
Was going to say, isn’t it a bit common sense that players want to play for either A established managers or Big name Managers over unknown managers.

Ultimately players want success and hedge there bets. Much harder to convince a player to join Cov when they don’t know why the should trust you or aren’t excited to play under you.

It's not difficult is it? Just think about yourself and your job, and then consider all your colleagues and everyone else in your profession. Do you all think in the exact same manner?

None of the managers we're being linked with are unknown.

I was referring Ian Evatt which is an unknown in this league and speaking in general terms since the original point was on about lower league managers.

What we would consider an unknown, and what people fully immersed in the industry day in day out would consider an unknown, are likely completely different. Many of our players could well know Evatt well, and respect him as a manager.

Clough was relatively unknown as a manager when at Hartlepool (in the Fourth Division), but led Derby County to promotion to the First Division. I'm sure he had the respect of the players there.

I would argue that Bloomfield is to most and Eustace will be to non uk players.

if it really is FL or z Carsley or Keane then I agree

However my point was relating to the notion of hiring a guy from lower in the pyramid.

Same could be said for Robins, in the sense that Wright, MVE, Sakamoto, etc, are much more likely to have known the name Lampard, than the name Robins.

Bloomfield could well be known to many footballers in England, due to his fairly lengthy playing career in the football league.

Don't get the hype over Eustace whatsoever

Yes Brum sacked him in the play offs but on every conceivable metric going they were overperforming and it wouldn't last, it is only looked back on as such a fuck up because Rooney was such a disastrous appointment - and judging by how dogshit Blackburn were against us the other week I'd imagine they will tail off as well

Understand your point here, but i think his stature at the club and length of tenure would have played in his favour. He was THE gaffer, he outdated all the players. So his reputation comes from that, not his playing career or media appearances.
Whereas you wouldnt be able to say that for a new, lower league manager.

Do you think? I would have thought for foreign players the pull would have been the club itself, and recent success, rather than the manager. Therefore, I wouldn't necessarily see that changing short term, even without a "big name" manager.

Maybe but not sure at least on paper were that note worthy a club for players over seas. As such manager as well as let’s be blunt wages covers a big part of imo.

If we are selling players the prem dream that King said we are, they have to be able to see how we get there. If they don’t know the manager, they might not have the same faith especially when fighting teams with bigger funds in this league

The announcement is Carr is doing the Friday pre game presser

And they're not going to have a press conference to announce the new Manager on the same day.

This could go on a lot longer. 🙈

Am I one of the only ones not fussed by the wait, or feeling impatient?

My stance now is it will happen when it happens. Should have happened before of course, but we are past that now and the new bloke won't have any time to work with the players before Sheff Utd and Burnley.

We all pretty much seem to think it will be Lampard don't we and it's not like there is another club waiting in the wings for him.

If there had been competition with other clubs over a manager, I would be a bit more concerned, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

So this is pretty much me at the moment.

Almost exactly the same, but without the pool and costume.

Just picture that above, but me in a fluffy dressing gown, wrapped in a big blanket, freezing my tits off.

king is currently on holiday. interviews have taken place this week with Austin and Clare

last interview was yesterday
So let’s get this straight.

According to posts you, and others, have made in the past, King is a narcissistic control freak who micromanages every single detail. Yet, the biggest decision of his tenure so far and he has decided to go on holiday.

Ok.

Sacking your manager because results aren’t good enough and you’re worried about relegation only to let an incredibly inexperienced interim coach take charge of at least 3 games. Makes sense.
So King should have kept Robins in place, knowing he was going to sack him and openly shop around behind his back for a replacement?
