Erm?? I think he does yes.
Its been said we're looking to bring in 3-4 more players of which this is the first. This chap turning up doesn't mean there won't be a striker coming in at some point.
Some people are never happy!
And I agree! I was being a sarcastic knob!
Surely you hire the people you need as they become available? If we need another midfielder and one he wants is available now, wouldn't it be mad to decline and let him go elsewhere?
As long as it's not an either/or, that's fine.
Does concern me slightly however, that the season starts in a couple of days and we're lacking goalscoring strikers who've built up an understanding with the squad.

Sure but it isn't either/or. The strikers will come in as soon as they are available.
i really thought he would get in a striker with the game coming up,maybe he is waiting to see what money the gates bring in sat to get a striker?

Well... in terms of building a squad and having them bond, the close season has already been an either/or. We've decided, for better or worse, to go with Ricketts and Vincelot as the 'marquee' signings, so decided defence and midfield have needed the time to bond more than the forwards.
Time will tell if that's right or not, but currently I'm reminded of the times keeping Morrison / McKenzie / King etc hanging around until the last minute for decisions, and those seasons tended not to pan out beautifully as the hanging around was symptomatic of an unwillingness/inability to build the foundations from the start, so the club was always playing catch-up.
Maybe this season will be he exception to prove the rule.
Maybe.

Well we are always moaning about shit Fleck is, Morris and Vincelot in central midfield could be a good partnership (not that I've seen him play but as I say we are always moaning about how poor central midfield is)A central midfielder who can play centre half. Just what we needed.

TM could have chosen to ignore the loan market altogether and bring in the best available frees in June and get them gelled as a team. He chosen instead to wait for a little more quality, and wait you have to at our level to get those loans. Which would you prefer?

He can also play on the wing anyway as he played there for Burton.
There has been quality proven leave strikers available on a free this summer, for example Leon Clarke and Andy Williams to name but two. We currently have Tudguy and 2x 18 year olds.

Maddison, Lamieras, Swanson, JOB, Tudgay and Armstrong can all chip in with goals. Its obviously a weak area still but its not as if we are going into Saturday with a goalkeeper + 10 defenders. Some will see this as unleashing Fleck as our goal scoring goal making midfielder
It's just concerning given the lack of goals and attacking options we have. The season starts on Saturday.

Delfouneso just signed a one year contract with Blackburn, guess we should have signed him because he's a striker.
No point in signing players who are gonna jump ship for more money eg. Clarke.

They won't chip in with many, I would be surprised if there's 20 goals between them.
We just had Waggott moaning about ST sales, the need to balance the budget and we're 15% down on ST's, and we need to average 11k and money's tight.

Mowbray's not only worked with him before, but thought enough of him to play him at 16. Sounds like a decent signing from that alone.
Good competition in midfield now, bring on a winger and couple of strikers
Let's not pretend it's a black & white, wait for later and you get better. Waiting last season, after all, got us an unfit Jackson, and Nouble...
In a general sense, it's symptomatic of a poorly run club to depend on loans as the problem is, come six months or a year's time you have to replace them, and not even with the compensation of a transfer fee. One could see it as evidence of the desperation for instant success that the players haven't been scouted and signed beforehand, and instead we scrabble around and hope to get lucky.
We might, we might get the blip, but we're playing the law of averages poorly.
