Anybody watching this, history possibly being made as Eliud Kipchoge attempts to run a sub 2 hour marathon. 20 mins to go and on track.

Absolutely amazing achievement. Not going to be recognised as a record by the IAAF though

Absolute insanity. Completed in 1:59:40.
It is isn't it, when i was young the record was about 2:23 i think and I've watched it get chipped away over the years always wondering if sub 2 hrs would happen in my lifetime, what's really amazing is he looks like he could run another straight away.

Why is that? Someone else has mentioned it to me as well, but I’m in the gym at the moment so can’t listen to the coverage.
I think because it wasn't a race as such, pacemakers were joining at different distances and there was a pace car projecting a laser onto the road for them to follow. I can kind of see their point but at the end of the day he ran it it under 2 hrs

Absolutely incredible achievement.
Can't think of a greater sporting feat.
The human capacity for getting stronger and faster is incredible.

Unbelievable athleticism but I agree it shouldn’t be recognised. Unfair to those who haven’t had a laser telling them exactly where to run. Pacing is part of the skill

However it’s still extraordinary
