I very much doubt any underdog will be winning the competition anytime soon , all it's doing is adding more games to their schedules which they already moan too much about as it is

These are games that brugge and Celtic fans get to enjoy that they wouldn't normally.

Same with group format. Lots of opportunities for famous victories and excitement for smaller teams looking at the table etc

Need to remember football isn't just about the big teams getting the nice moments.

Sure , but as I said these clubs are already moaning about schedules and in the end it will be big clubs that get all the excitement as other trophies such as the league cup will probably pay the price for these clubs to play more European matches .

In the previous format they'd have got 2 games against a side like Bayern and 2 against another still pretty big name. The extra games will be a good money spinner though and I do generally agree that the league format makes for more interesting viewing
