They're struggling to recruit by all accounts.

Recently lost out to Portsmouth for Colby Bishop.

Watched a lot of today's game and that Bowler really looks class. Can't believe someone won't come in for him.

Watching Blackpool v Everton (if I was a Blackpool fan, I'd be worried about this season - no urgency/application at all, considering it's the last pre-season game)

I rated their old boss Neil Critchley and it was obviously a massive blow when he left, I think they are going to struggle with Michael Appleton in charge. Blackpool or Blues for the final relegation place for me, the other two being Rotherham and Reading.

Bournemouth have reportedly already tabled a £1m bid. I'd imagine the vultures will swarm later on in the window to try and pick him up for a cut price deal.

He's out of contract next summer so Blackpool really have no choice but to sell and clubs are clearly exploiting that.

Wigan must be in the mix ?

Earlier this year we announced Hugh Woozencroft and Jules Breach will present ITV’s EFL coverage and they'll be joined by a panel of pundits to cast their eye over the action.

Throughout the season, a comprehensive round-up of all the day’s action from across the EFL will be screened in the primetime slot each Saturday at 9pm on ITV4, with a repeat being shown on ITV [main channel] later in the evening.

And for those who want to catch up on all the highlights on Sunday mornings, viewers will be able to watch again on ITV at 9:25am and on demand via our streaming platform the ITV Hub.

Shame, I liked it on quest.

Same, Colin Murray will be missed. He was great and some of the panel they had on were good (considering it was Quest and EFL coverage). That said, Jules Breach is very good, I don't know anything about Hugh but fingers crossed. If nothing else, it should get the league (and more importantly us) more coverage being on one of the main channels

Yeah can’t say I know a lot about the new hosts. Thought Sam Parkin was always insightful on quest as well as George Elek and Alli Maxwell the NTT20 lads

Premier League clubs want Championship sides to commit to developing young British loan talent as part of a restructuring of the finances of the English game.

At a lengthy shareholders meeting in central London on Tuesday plans for ‘a new deal for football’ were discussed which would see changes to the controversial parachute payments system and greater redistribution down the pyramid, including investment in infrastructure at League One and League Two grounds.
In return Premier League clubs would like better opportunities for their young players to develop. Frustrated by the lack of competitiveness at under-23 level, and with Brexit having reduced loan opportunities in Europe for British players, the lower leagues are an increasingly important place for player development.

Some directors, however, feel that the more physical demands of lower-league football are not best suited to developing Premier League skills, particularly among players who have not fully developed physically. They believe this could change, perhaps if Championship sides were obliged to field a certain number of under-23 players in their first teams

Premier League clubs can never just agree to do the right thing. There's always some sort of weird catch that involves them messing with the game to their benefit and they can all fuck off.
I do legitimately hate the English Premiership though.

Doesn’t pretty much every Championship club already have at least two Prem kids on loan anyway?

Regardless they can piss off. If they want clubs taking their youngsters as a favour they’ll have to pay them for the pleasure.

Or if you;re not going to use them release them so other clubs can develop them and then benefit financially from that hard work.

Bournemouth have agreed a fee with Middlesbrough for midfielder Marcus Tavernier.

It’s believed to be £10m with a further £2.5m in add-ons.
