Don’t get the Millwall results. They’ve got them getting 4 points but winning both games.

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned it but Blackburn have just been dealt a blow (aside from their form), the injury Tyler Morton picked up against PNE at the weekend and kept him out last night is a fracture which he’s had surgery on so his season is over. Pretty sure we can write Blackburn out of contention. From the highlights I’ve seen Norwich are awful (especially at the weekend, they looked like the fabled team on the beach already) and their league place flatters to deceive. Tonight’s a big night for WBA, loose tonight and I think their heads will go down and that’s them for the season. Milwalls current form ain’t good but I wouldn’t write them off just yet and neither would I Swansea based on their current form. I think PNE goal difference will scupper them even if they improve their current form which leaves Sunderland. If we win on Saturday I don’t think Middlesbrough will fancy running the risk of adding a local derby over the two legs into the mix, coupled with they might want to rest or not risk key players on the final day which you would think would be to our benefit. Squeaky bum time but we could all be confirmed in the playoffs at the weekend. There is of course a scenario where we go into the final game needing the 3 points, Swanseas form continues so we end up fighting for the last place on the final day, Middlesbrough field a rested team getting us the 3 points meaning Sunderland miss out. Throw in a delayed kickoff for crowd congestion and last minute goal to get the three points and Sunderland fans would go into meltdown. Almost too perfect but I’d prefer we tied it up on Saturday with other results going our way.

Speaking of Blackburn, as Sheff Utd have just beaten West Brom 2-0, I've had a quick browse around the forums of our competition.

Blackburn are still sore.....

"And if Coventry win the play offs they’ll be up because they weren’t punished for failing to fulfill three fixtures."

"Or the goalkeeper cheating 🙈"

Good hope they stay sore.

Predicting is a mug's game but it is most likely that Cov, Blackburn, Millwall, WBA and Sunderland will all win this weekend - even Blackburn against Luton - leaving a last day shoot out between the 5 for 2 places

Millwall & Blackburn play each other and neither has as good a goal difference as City at present so a draw could be nice, but I suspect one will win and get to 71. The other three are all away at difficult clubs so it really is a lottery, but you would think one of Sunderland or WBA would win again and reach 71 points, which means I fear City may come 7th. Not even a draw with Boro will be enough

I think we need Blackburn to lose to Luton and then beat Millwall and one of Sunderland and WBA to not get two wins

...or something like that

Luton will not want to lose third place and we need Luton to win against Blackburn. A win against Blackburn for them would mean Middlesbrough are staying in 4th regardless of their final 2 results they cant get into 3rd and cannot drop to 5th.

Coventry need to focus on winning. If Blackburn and Millwall both win this weekend anything less that 3 points for either team is not enough.

They're incredibly fortunate to even be in the race, they've been riding their luck all season.
They have scored the same amount of goals as Rotherham, rank 21st for xG & have a negative goal difference.

Ironically their poor run of form has actually come when they've started playing a bit better.

Swansea is an incredibly long shot. The maximum points tally they can get now is 68. I think there's just too many teams in front of them.

Whatever happens (and I’ll have to come back and remind myself of this probably), but this has been an incredible season really. The fact we’ve even been in contention for the playoffs this late on makes the season a success…when was the last time we’ve been this high up and in contention? In this league that is. Honestly I’ve not been as excited in my life time (im 31).

Be great if we sneak playoffs, which i think we will, and then my money is on borough going up. But to even be part of it is fantastic.

That is nearly a once a season permutation. Sky bet would offer you nearly 28/1.

I would be surprised if more than 3 of the sides managed a win. The worse sides to play now are those battling to stay up. Add to that the sides knowing a defeat will put them out of contention for the playoffs so don't play their normal game.

If we beat Birmingham we should make it. We all know that the result isn't a given. Just like all the other games.

I called 1-1 against Blackburn and win the next two to claim our place. And it has gone better than to plan so far 😀

First and foremost we have to get 3 points ourselves. But as for the rest, Millwall lost at a relegation contender who themselves had to win. Same again tomorrow, Blackpool have to win and again are at home. As for Blackburn, mostly depends on how seriously Luton take the game.

Can’t see West Brom and Sunderland not winning theirs.

I can definitely see West Brom v Norwich ending up as a draw. Norwich have a slim chance of still making the playoffs, so will be well up for it. It's the very last chance. I know they have faltered of late, but have some very decent players. Some of the best in the Championship. I think they could very well get something on Saturday.

Watford are much more likely to not turn up, so yup, Sunderland have a great chance there.

Funnily enough Norwich’s only win in the last 9 came away at Blackburn, but they’re in simply terrible form. Can’t see it to be honest but predicting results in this league is a mug’s game at the best of times

It is, and though I think we will win on Saturday, I could also just as easily see us lose.

We’ve never been in genuine contention apart from the first season down and about a week under Coleman before finishing 17th.

They way I see it other results having gone our way last couple of weeks.

Means we are still technically in pole position even with a draw vs Brum.

Really?

Millwall can't beat anyone at the moment, and they're going away to a Blackpool side who are desperate for a win.

Blackburn are playing the divisions in-form team.

WBA are playing fellow play-off contenders.

Sunderland are playing a Watford side who can still mathematically make the play-offs.

I don't see any clear wins there for those teams.

I look at it very simply now that Blackburn and WBA have lost their games in hand. We win both games and we can't be caught. Any other combination of results is totally unpredictable

They can, it’s massively unlikely but possible if everyone loses and Millwall Blackburn is a draw and Watford win about 7-0 each time.

they can only get 65 points can’t they?

Yeah, they are mathematically out of it as at least one of Blackburn & Millwall will increase their point tally.
Sod mathematically. I hope we are looking after the pitch (pitch sabotage )with armed guard cos we have a suspended 6 point deduction around our necks. Lol.

28/1 ? Maybe I should have limited myself to just those 5 teams :)
I went with all our challengers winning and all 8 Champ games and got....

Good point.

I’ve a feeling it’ll be down to us or Sunderland last day. We might only need a draw.

Middlesbrough is a long way. Would we get a points deduction if the team coach broke down and we kicked off 15 mins late…..?
