Considering WBA’s game in hand, a Sunderland win would probably be best followed by a draw.
really not sure as sunderland have winnable games and momentum - would prefer them out of the race, and Burnley to beat Blackburn

anything but 2 wins then for either Blackburn or Millwall and a win v Birmingham would be enough

They travel to PNE last day. Really if we can beat Birmingham, that means a lot of sides will then need to win both their games to overtake us.

Suppose West Brom lost today and also lost at Sheff Utd, then that would include them too. This is also assuming of course that we can’t get a result at Middlesbrough.

Burnley under investigation for fielding a weakened side v Reading, could be points deduction and fine. I think a 10 point deduction would make things very interesting

Yes what a cunning plan - get them into the play off mix

I've just worked out a few scenarios and I think if Blackburn lose to burnley , we beat blues we will not need to win at boro
Don't think that's right.
We win at blues, we will be on 69, a draw at Middlesboro will put on 70, we can't get 71. A win at Middlesboro and Blues will give us 72
As of today Millwall can get 71, Sunderland can get 71, West Brom can get 72 even if they lose to Sunderland and have a GD similar to ours.

If blackburn fail to beat Burnley though , it's in our hands

I count 14 players in squad v Reading that also were in squad for the previous game. EFL guidelines say 10. No case to answer.

The irony being they played their 'full strength' team yesterday vs QPR & lost.

QPR had 19% possession

Was just looking at the EFL website for play-off dates and to find out when next season starts - neither listed on the website; Premier League announced in November that next season will begin on 12th August.

Looked elsewhere, and with two games to play (for most) only five teams are guaranteed to be in the Championship next season:

Birmingham City
Bristol City
Hull City
Stoke City
Watford

It's actually in our hands now - if we win both, no-one can catch us. Still think that if we beat Blues that might be enough (can't be ars*d to work out if that's true). Better for us Sunderland winning than West Brom.
Unlikely but assuming Baggies and Blackburn did both win their games in hand, it would be ultra tight between us and West Brom GD wise. Such a close end to the season, the neutrals and EFL must be happy.

Sheffield Utd v West Brom will likely be a feisty affair (likely to suit Sheff Utd rather than West Brom, I would have thought) Just beat Blues and see where we are. Everything crossed.

Blackburn and WBA both to not win mid week
sunderland to lose home to watford or away at preston (or 2 draws)
WBA to win no more than 1 of home to norwich or away at Swansea
Cov to win v Blues

would guarantee us play offs subject to massive gd swings

IF we can beat B'Ham I think we will still need a point at Middlesbro, unless we beat B'Ham by a hatful of goals, but with the recent results you never know, 69 might be enough.
Just need either Millwall or Sunderland slip up.
I think
West Brom 67
Blackburn 67
Millwall 69
Sunderland 69
Others around 66

Luton Middlesbrough tonight.

Who do we want / need to win / draw?

Luton are home and were beaten in playoffs last year (will want autos (edit, not autism 🙄) at all costs) and 3 points gives them a glimmer (just a glimmer) of autos if SUFC implode (stranger things).

Luton after have Blackburn A (winnable) Hull Home (same).

My guess is Luton will go full gun and this leaves Boro knowing 4th is most likely. Nothing to gain by going full hammer against a scrapping Rotherham away in their next match.

That leaves the final game against us which will be to them a dead rubber. I can see them trying to avoid injuries and being totally focussed on play offs.

Just thoughts.

Luton win, want Boro with nothing to play for and one eye on the playoffs.

Perhaps they’ll have a mindset that if they allow us 5th they’ll play us next game. Maybe they’ll rest best players and get their second choice CBs to kick Gyok to bits knowing that even a card / pen doesn’t matter.

If they wound Gus to seeing red, would he be suspended for playoffs or is it wiped? Anyone know?
