Not a lot there that I'd wish had come here.

My thoughts exactly - frustrating to see us not signing anyone as yet but I wouldn’t swap our lack of business for any of the sides that have done business so far

The perfect way to wind people up by listing all the signings other teams have made 😂👍

Interesting to see just how little money is being thrown around at the moment.
Is this a sign that football is finally sorting itself out, or does it mean that football is in the shit financially?

In my opinion we ain’t seen nothing yet, it’s a buyers market I think we are in an okay position but perhaps there are better players up for grabs so options could of changed. What I think might be interesting is the loan deals this time around which tend to be later in the window I reckon there could be decent options available.

Reece Burke and Sam Field would have been of interest, albeit there was a fee paid for Field.

Think for a lot of club's will be not paying big fees owing to the pandemic as most clubs are in the same boat I think as we are.
Certain clubs like the relegated teams will be loaded compared to the rest of us to spend big and guarantee to make the difference to going back up.but do think with good management it will be not any more difficult to stay up this coming season and with the right signings we can have a good season back home.

Quite probably a combination of both Fatso.
The wheels on the gravy train had to come off eventually.

Wait until teams start getting knocked out of the Euros and players get back from holiday. It will take off and 100's of millions will be spent. It only takes 1 big move to get the ball rolling be it Kane or Sancho then the money will be going about by the big boys like normal. The 2 Manchester clubs, Chelsea and Liverpool will all spend big. Palace have a squad of about 8 so are going to have to spend.

Doesn’t mean millions as you have put it is available in the championship I suspect things to be very prudent there and the rest of the EFL generally.

You have mentioned Crystal Palace and what happens there is going to be interesting whoever is the new manager there has a hell of a job on their hands half their squad going or gone star turn Wilfred Saha probably off too and only just over a month to do it. No wonder Nino Santo walked away.

No won't be a massive amount spent in the Championship but you can bet the premiership top 6 will spend 300-400 million between them.

Man Utd just bit £67M for a player, I’m not sure the ‘gravy train’ has ended.
Not sure if Man United are a good example they always have more money to burn than most but according to media reports their bid for Jadon Sancho and being looked at by his club Dortmund is apparently a third less than the bid put in a year ago and was turned down.

I am highlighting that the gravy train hasn’t ended, it’s more that those further down the pyramid are having financial issues.

Dortmund are a bit like Spurs. They have a fixed price for their star players and don't really come away from that figure. Will be interesting what they do with Harland as he has a clause in his contract that kicks in next year meaning he can leave for 58 mil next summer. Do they sell now for double that or take the hit next year.

I 'd say it's unlikely they will let Sancho go for the reported 67mil but who knows.

Agreed - a few will fight over the out of contract players - like Matty James, Walsh etc, who will probably go to those who will pay the highest wages (Swansea? having offloaded Ayew's £80k a week) Bristol City have also shed a lot of their squad, so will be keen to snaffle up whoever they can. I think a lot of clubs - us included, will be using the loan system this season as a cheap (er) way to plug the gaps. We obviously need to replace Sam McCallum, James (unless they think Kelly can recover, and Eccles/Sheaf can cover that area) Ostigard and Viktor. We will only sign a keeper if we can offload Marko. I think a lot of clubs will have to wait until PL clubs are prepared to loan out their players post Euros, and have concluded their own wheeler dealing. Frustrating, but we got it right last season. Fingers crossed.

Alan Campbell signed for Luton from Motherwell. Looks a good signing on the phase of it. Young but with loads of experience at CM in the SPL

Swansea have already spent half the money they've saved offloading Ayew!

In no context Notts County news, Doyle has been retained as "Assistant Head Coach" Luke Steele and Ben Turner released. No luck on getting a return for Dion Kelly Evans and Jim O Brien as they have both been offered new contracts
