Not a fan of Rooney before anyone starts but he was a fool to take that job
He had no chance and only proceeded to soil his reputation even further

He would’ve been far better trying for a decent league 1 club

I always feel Lampard was clever with our job. We’re not a terrible side by any means. It was always a case of getting down to it and moving us back to mid table.

I get the feeling Lampard will do just enough for us to get Sky back on his side, proclaiming he’s back - and he’ll he snapped up by a lower Prem side quickly. I don’t think he’ll be here long enough to be a bad manager

I've a feeling you may be right but as long as he's here and improving us I'm backing him 100%

Got to fancy derby to keep struggling under Warne

Yep. Warne doing what he always did with Rotherham.
Derby still without the funds to buy anything but bargain basement players.
They do have a saleable asset in Cashin who Brighton have been sniffing around and may be worth up to £10m but since Curtis Nelson just been injured they are fucked in that position.
Their fans could just about put up with the anti football whilst they were winning a few but losing 5 in a row now and 1 point off the bottom 3.

Oh don’t get me wrong I’ll back him. Just feel like we’re a job of convenience, I’m not going to pretend Robins was the norm because he isn’t.

Lampard will do a job for us, and we’ll benefit from it

He would need to do something special this season for that. I think he needs another full season before Prem clubs will take him seriously.

Im not sure- if he got us to top 8 -not even necessarily playoffs, that would be a good points per game tally from him and think he would be attractive to some lower end Prem clubs - may not be fair but he always has a head start

I am sure a succession plan is being put in place but I FL and his team have got a couple of seasons on their contracts, we can all hope he achieves promotion here in that time.

I really wanted us to go after Cashin instead of Kitching who at the time was valued slightly cheaper than Kitching

By the way, standard in the championship this season is dross, utter dross.

Apart from the top 3 (and even Sheffield United didn't look great at the CBS), it does look very average this year.
Most of the teams we've lost to so far looked pretty poor, Leeds being the only side that really took us apart.

Think you only need a bit of a run to challenge the play offs

Plymouth have totally botched their handling of him - they've missed out on millions by not selling him last season.
Was thinking the same. Sometimes the club has to do the smart thing and cash in even though you know the fans are going to kick off regardless. Could argue we should have parted with Sheaf in the summer, his value will be down now.

Depends who was in for Sheaf, but loads would have been in for Whittaker. Dick move on his part to refuse to play though.

In fairness it can be a difficult decision to make without hindsight - I advocated for selling Gyokeres earlier than we did at a time when our finances were screwed and playoffs seemed like a fantasy, which also would have cost us millions. But Plymouth should have been able to tell that the money would be more valuable to them than another season of Whittaker.

Would have had Rooney spending it though.

Morgan Whittaker doing a Dion Dublin and refusing to play for
Plymouth last night is inexcusable. Hate when a player does that to the team that pays their wages.

Whittaker will have ruined his legacy at Argyle, which is a shame.

Not sure where he's got it from but my lad said Waitford are getting rid of Cleverley.
