Change all that is SKY BLUE? (1 Viewer)

Regardless of the scientific reasoning or merits of rebranding that are involved in a colour change, I think the reaction of most fans on here tells you what sort of an idea this is.

Remember the new badge?

Remember New Coke?!?!?

I think changing the colour we play in should come before getting right everything is wrong with our club. Lets do things the SISU way

I've just waded through 10 pages of this, my jaw dropping lower with each car-crash of a page. Paxman posturing himself as the new Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen, Otis prematurely nailing his colours to the mast and then furiously backtracking.

Can someone make the Benny Hill soundtrack play to complete my joy, please?

No backtrackimg from me.

Consistently said that we should consider all options and at least not dismiss anything.

Where have I backtracked? Just think we need a complete overhaul and shouldn't rule anything out.

I haven't even said that I want to change the kit.:thinking about:

First things first. The most important thing for any new owner is to sort out the finances, buy the area, build strong links with the community and fans, install a dedicated and competent managerial team (both on an off the pitch).

If those structual changes are made I would have no problem with the new owner introducing more superficial changes as part of a rebranding exercise, e.g., less sky blue and more dark blue and white in the kit, new club song, etc. But there is no point making these superficial changes unless the underlying and substantive weaknesses in our business model are properly addressed.

I sympathize with what Paxman and Otis are saying as we definitely need a visionary leader (and someone willing to invest and lose a lot of money). But a simple change in kit colour will not on its own achieve anything other than to alienate a large percentage of our fan base.

And I am certainly not saying just change the kit. Just thing we need to consider anything in trying to change this losing mentality.

Right sod it....lets become the all blacks, well at least their win ratio is better than ours.

I would also change the sponsor from City Link to , F*ck Off Sunderland

Before we became the Sky Blues the club lacked an idetity. Sky Blue became that. I'd like a more vibrant shade of Sky Blue - quite liked the 125 year shirt colour but I wouldn't feel right having a completely different colour. No other clubs done something like that in recent memory. Would just seem like a weird reaction to being relegated. Could you see Liverpool/Man Utd drop red?

"It's Yer Money I'm After, Baby" by The Wonder Stuff would be apt, and stick with our tradition of playing music by Brummies who don't support us.

..this refers to my original post requiring our 'tired' image to be revitalised! yes that bloody awful Sky Blue song just gets me depressed when I hear it....it's so 60's and sounds so 40's!

Only read a few pages of the thread but I agree with Paxman, otis and others.
This is not just about changing just the colour of the kit, its about everything to do with CCFC we have become stagnent and not just under SISU, the whole image of the match day experiance needs a change and rethink, I have talked on here before about it.

We have become old fashioned and not moved with the times, what harm could it really do to rebrand, change things about CCFC, the club is rotting away and starting to self destruct at the moment, any change cannot make us any worse than we already are.
