I don't want to see players dropped unnecessarily. What I want is a change in formation. Fleck is playing a defensive midfield position. We need him moved forward where he can dictate a bit more and splay the ball around as he was earlier in the season, making forward runs (he did just once yesterday).
Lameries was off the pace and clearly not match ready.
Up front we lacked penetration and getting in the box. Crosses came in and just required a tap in but where were we?
Maddison is a luxury player and needs to express himself. But Fleck alongside will allow him to do that. Cole must learn to play with Fleck and get control of the game between them. Then you just need your front man Arma waiting to pounce on through balls.
He needs support from a rejuvenated Murphy down the middle. Use the wing backs much more effectively in a 4-4-2
Play the ball to feet quick and crisp and at pace as we have done previously. Move up on the opposition stop playing so deep and inviting them on. Win the second ball. Make throw in quickly and forward. Lets see more movement at all times. Stop thumping it up top from the back...why is that suddenly happening? It will always come back as we don't have a big man as target.

So basically get back to what we were doing previously and step up and find your game. If that does not work then the big man little man game may be the only option. Henderson will need game time so as an impact sub he could be effective in either trying to win or holding on to the ball and keep what we got. If I was coach I'd have them in today passing the ball to feet in little diamonds all day moving the ball forward through the pitch without the opposition able to gain possession. Practice that for 3 or 4 hours against the other squad players. pass and go, movement and looking for the space and return constantly. It's what put us in the play off's. We just have not been doing it of late.

Might have Bigi in the squad if Cargill is injured as it frees up a loan space

Erm Paxman when we were playing well Fleck was not furher up field he was in same position defensive mid with Vincelot!
Some of the comments you make I do wonder if you go to games.

When we beat Millwall 4-0 we played 4-2-3-1 he was in the two with Vincelot......attacking three were Lameiras, Maddison and JOB
Arma up top. If we recalled JOb we could in theory play the same top 6......however do not think this can happen.

Goalie and defence have to change as Burge who saved penalty on day is injured though most see RCC as better keeper.

If we keep 4-2-3-1 you have to just find person in squad who best replaces JOB as will not be called back - I would say this would be Rose??

Have been saying this since the start of the slump.

As much as I'd like to see us revert to 442, like a guy in front of me at home games said on Saturday, we can see it's needed, but there is no way Mowbray is going to do it. If he was prepared to, he'd have done it by now.

Agree with that & fans of other clubs have said in the past he sticks with his plan A even when it's clearly not working.

Completely agree, as much as we discuss it on here its a little pointless, TM wont change his style. Teams know exactly what we are going to do every game, set up against it and then we're clueless to find a way to create chances, let alone score goals. A proper change in how we set up is needed, a second option where we have two wide men who can vaguely cross the ball and at least one out of Henderson and Tudgay upfront. Could even play both, that's a lot of physicality for a defense to handle.

Somethings got to give, I absolutely do not advocate removing managers as often as teams do, i dislike it hugely. But TM has a lot to answer for. 3 wins and 15pts from 16 games is atrocious and managers have gone for a lot less, especially in a team that was for so long an almost guarantee for playoffs/promotion. I dont want to see him go, but hes got to do something.

I like that.

I think Lameiras added a creative element we have been missing for a while on Saturday, and I want to see him get more games, but Rose just has to be given a chance. We've barely seen anything of him since he signed. Certianly his effort and application we could do with!

If this is a game to grind out a win we need to be looking at the likes of Rose over Lameiras or Maddison or Murphy.

Wonder if Cole will play? I know he can't usually manage two games in a week, but we did sub him on Saturday and think it might be needs must.

I would go with ...

RCC

Lorentzson (it WILL be Ricketts though unfortunately) Martin Stephens Stokes

Fleck Vincelot

Rose Murphy Cole

Armstrong

That gives us a much more physical presence in midfield.

If it were to be 2 up top, I would go for

RCC

Lorentzson (though we still know it will be Ricketts) Martin Stephens Stokes

Fleck Vincelot

Rose Murphy

Armstrong

Henderson

Surely we cannot go into another game with a midfield comprising of any three from Lamieras, Cole, Maddison or Murphy, it's weak, woeful and lacks pace. The tough guys in the opposition must rub their hands at the prospect of facing them.

Murphy is our fastest player

Or Josh Murphy for those who listen on CWR.

I think Clive Eakin called him Josh Murphy 4 or 5 times on Saturday.
