Checkatrade - time to own up (1 Viewer)

As someone who goes to the league games I've never had a problem with day trippers turning up for the big games, we need them and I understand lots of people can't make it all the time for a variety of reasons.

Now I made a conscious decision at the start of the campaign not to go to any of the Checkatrade games. Fair play to those of you who have been so far, but I am now jumping on the band-wagon. If we get a home draw I'll be there for the quarter and I feel no shame about it.

As I imagine the crowd will be significantly more than the 2,085 last night, who else is prepared to out themselves and seek forgiveness for their non-attending sins but are looking forward to a quarter/semi and Wembley day out?

Haven't been yet, hoping the final u23 team get knocked out ASAP.

If the next round is at home I will definitely consider going.

In recent years (since relegation from the championship)the best buzz I've had as a city was without a doubt the injury time comeback in the JPT v PNE!

Don't like the format of the checkatrade trophy and haven't been to a tie. But I will be climbing off my high horse and turning out for the quarters.
Mind you we all know that a big crowd at the Ricoh for a cup game....and we will blow it

I don't have any problems with people now getting onboard with it. It is a crappy trophy and poor set up this year, but it is what it is and you still have to win games to get to where we are now.

If people now decide to come and back the City (not the tournament) then that's absolutely fine by me.

IF we get to Wembley and there's 30,000+ City fans there, are we really going to be sitting in our seats talking about how poor a trophy it is and how it doesn't matter?

We win and it will matter greatly. A trophy is a trophy and it will bring confidence and belief to the team and fans alike and create a little bit of a buzz around the city.

As I said last night, it was the most excited I had been before a game. There was something at stake and tangible to play for.

Now we are just two games away from what would be a fantastic day out and a trip to London.

And I am convinced that after so long in the doldrums we WOULD win the trophy should we make the final. I think winning it will mean more to the City than to any other club in the competition.

I bet every other team left in the competition, bar Swansea U23'S have won league titles, or gained promotion and had success in the past 10-15 years.

Like others have said ..I go to watch the team...I don't care what competition it is ..I just want to watch them play ... Just like when I go to pre season friendlies ..it's not for glory its to watch the team ..I hope we progress and I hope we get home draws .. Because no matter how crap you think the Ricoh is ,when it is full and rocking its a good place to be ..it would be great to show wasps that we can still fill the stadium without giving tickets away ..

Warwick Uni students union are offering a ticket to Wasps v Toulouse for a tenner with free transport there and back! Tickets for all other games this season for a tenner too. A good way of generating interest but certainly a loss leader.

I am also not a season ticket holder but attend home & away games when I can (usually around 20 a season). Would they have something in place where I take the physical stubs to the ticket office as such and could get them like that? Appreciate you may well not know the answer, just interested in your thoughts.

When we drew arsenal in the cup when we were at sixfields...they gave priority to people who had attended sixfields... You just had to show your stub at the ticket office ( this was when it was at the Gallagher retail park) so presume it will be the same

I've got a Wolves fan mate who has a flag from – and is still proud of – their LDV Vans (as it was then) Trophy win and it's always been a source of some piss-taking from me, so I've always been slightly wary of us getting to the final. (I'm still annoyed I broke my NOPM boycott back when we had that Crewe semi-final horror show.)

But times have changed and TBF, a sniff of Wembley would be a Godsend these days and I don't care who wants to jump on the bandwagon. The more the merrier. Well, unless we have a similar situation to the Gillingham return game where genuine Con fans were losing out to non-Cov fans who 'just wanted to be there'.

As for the draws, unlike a few here, I'd love a more southerly away evening...(so expect Yeovil, Swansea or Blackpool away! :jawdrop. I found out this week that I might be the longest-distance season ticket holder so something closer to Brighton would be nice...

Said for years CCFC should have done something similar with a pastetable merchandise stand in front of them as soon as they step off the coach!

I find it hard to believe that we have any fans who wouldn't enjoy a day out at Wembley.
To be brutally frank about it , we have an awful lot of supporters who are the wrong side of 50 ( me included) , the likelihood is that barring an absolute miracle this is the only cup competition we can possibly win in our lifetime.
I would just love to get there and enjoy a day with my 3 lads .
I wouldn't give 2 shits if people haven't been for years , the more the merrier as far as I'm concerned.
Yes, we could eventually get promoted , we might even become champions but that is not the same as a one off Wembley final.
If there was ever a way to get kids talking ccfc again then this is it.
I really hope RS takes the competition serious.
