Chelsea interest in Callum Wilson (9 Viewers)

He’d be a great option from the bench for Liverpool. If I was Wilson I’d be going there in the hope of them winning the league this year

Yes. I think he's a promising player and £19 Million in todays market is good value.

Do you not rate him?

Crazy talk. If anything Solanke’s price fee completely sums up the state of the market at the minute. If Bournemouth had bought him from any other club, or if he was another nationality, they wouldn’t have have had to pay half of what Liverpool asked for.

I rate him at England U21 level. Premier League level he’s untried but when given the opportunity has looked completely out of his depth. E.g. Liverpool vs. Everton draw last season.

He’s got bags of talent but at 21 and about 8 goals to his name I do question whether he will be AS good as people claim given the amount of years spent on the bench or playing the U23s of his respective clubs - which perhaps has hindered his development.

Read this article earlier today that offers an insight to both our arguments: Like Neymar, Solanke deal could wreck the transfer market

Looks like Hugain going to Chelsea. No chance he would go to Liverpool and cannot see the step up at West Ham. Personally think he would be great at arsenal but they have no cash!

If Arnautovic goes to China I could definitely see West Ham tabling a bid. Although Bournemouth have made it clear that he’s going nowhere so realistically I don’t think he’ll move on this season. If he keeps scoring goals in the latter half of the season though, Liverpool, Spurs and possibly still Chelsea will need a striker come summer.

West Ham is a much bigger club tbf. It is a step up. I think Bournemouth will be relegated next season.

Have they stated he is not going anywhere? I saw Howe on Sky Sports earlier and he stressed that in his opinion he wouldn't sell at any price. We have heard this many times from managers only for the player to be sold soon after.

Well they have but every club has their price. The Bournemouth owner has said "it would take a ridiculous offer, something in the region of £70M for us to sell Callum Wilson" - or in such words anyway. Basically a club would have to offer way over the odds for Bournemouth to even consider selling him. Although how much of that I believe I don't know because although Callum is an excellent player he's a ticking time bomb. From an objective POV it makes sense to sell him because more than most players he's hugely depreciative. I'm sure the Bournemouth owners will know this.

They're just seeing what they can rinse out of teams. They're lucky that Callum seems a decent lad so probably wont strong arm them for a move.

Can someone explain to me why we hate Madders, boo George Thomas but love Callum Wilson?
I like them all but I’d say it’s because of how they left. Wilson gave his all for a season and parted with a nice message to fans and the city. Miaddison left in January, said he was happy to be at a big club like Norwich and then sauntered around for the rest of the season berating his teammates while on loan. Thomas took an absolute age to sign for Leicester which restricted our activities in the market when we wanted to get the squad done for promotion.

Yes the BBC gossip page is indeed saying 75m price tag and also that Wolves are now apparently interested. Would make sense after Abraham turned them down and if they need to adhere to a homegrown player quota.

What with Arnautovic looking like he's leaving West Ham I agree that could reignite their interest in him. Think they were linked last season and he always seems to score against them.

What with Kane looking like he's injured and Son away with South Korea you'd think Tottenham would maybe want to have a look at him...

London bidding war??

Why don't they all just throw it into the middle so that someone can land on free parking?

It's all insane isn't it?
Arnautovic is moodier than a teenage girl and will be 30 shortly. The Chinese have supposedly recently introduced a financial restraint system that was supposed to stop this kind of thing to encourage development of local players
Wilson is a terrific player but £75m?
The music has to keep playing forever or there will eventually be a reckoning

I still cant get it in my head that Bournemouth are a bigger club than Coventry!. I remember going to Bournemouth not so long agao when they were on the verge of relegation to the 2nd div and didn't have enough money to finish their new stand. They had people with buckets outside the ground to pay the players and keep the club afloat. Oh boy how times change.
