Chemistry in the team (1 Viewer)

I personally think a lot of our recent success goes down to the morale and chemistry of that team. After Notts County away I personally think even if we had lost in the final that team would have stormed league two and been promoted automatically. The new players this year are gelling well. Baka, hiwula, brown, sterling and Thomas have all been brilliant in recent weeks. Burge’s confidence is at an all time high. Willis and Davies is arguably one of the best CB pairing you could have in league one. I personally can see Davies being captain his reaction to our goal and the effort he puts in every game is fantastic. Full of passion. Jodi is getting stronger every game and that goal will be massive to him. Chaplin is a fantastic little player who links up play brilliant and contributes with chances towards goal. Jch is also been brilliant recently. I can’t be the only one who thinks if we can carry on a run we can easily push for playoffs- promotion this year. The job Robins has done since he came in is incredible.

Give it a couple of losses and the doom and gloom headhunters will be after Robins again

Don't want to get carried away talking of promotion after only a few games played, but your right about the team playing better when they enjoy playing together.
There was such a togetherness from all the players towards the back end of last season. Shown by the celebrations at Notts county away in the play offs. Something that seemed to be missing at the start of the season. Players out and new players in. It just seemed a bit disjointed and forced. But as players are settling in the performances are improving.
All we need to do now is start putting away these tonnes of chances were making. Teams aren't going to keep letting us off like Charlton and Southend did.
Southend had one decent chance at goal and scored. We had numerous and were lucky to come away with the win.

I'm not going to get too carried away after three wins the same as I wouldn't if we had lost the last three. Saying that. I'm enjoying the wins when they come.

I fully agree with not getting carried away. The Mowbray season showed us why not to get carried away. But I think the next two games are massive. Bradford are struggling and we need to put them away to show a real chance at pushing on in this league. Doncaster at home is a big game too as they are doing well and it’s a another chance to beat a decent side!

The strength that we have on the bench just shows how much competition we have for places, and with the likes of Grimmer and Allassani to add to that competition, we now have the kind of squad to mount a realistic bid for the playoffs.

Next 3 home games are against top 6 sides. Definite indicator of the season to come

Incredible to think we got Tom Davies for a nominal fee (I might be wrong) and we paid money for Turnbull!!

With Davies, last season he grew and grew as the season went on becoming commanding and solid at the back and he’s carried on this season.

My Pompey scouts (hey mum and dad!) described him as being limited as a defender. A later scouting report also detailed that Chaplin was not worth getting excited about.
I think my Pompey scouts are idiots.

Both last season and this our lapses in form coincided with Davies not playing, he’s rock solid at the back with either Willis or Hyam next to him, dangerous for the opposition at corners and set pieces too. So close to two goals Saturday.

we have beaten enough promotion favourites to know we CAN get promoted.

doesnt mean we will but nothing wrong at all about getting excited over the prospect of it.

lets beat bradford and then ithink next 6 games are against top 10 teams,we will find out just how good we are

What I like about the current team is the fact that you can sense an all round improvement by the individuals within the team, coupled with the injured players nearly all having recovered (Max aside). All the players are chipping in and we don't seem over reliant on any one individual. I thought Thomas had another strong game on Saturday, and if we have him and Jones in the side, we pose a huge threat out wide - just need the guys in the middle to get on the end of things. Really positive now. All games are tough and we will have wobbles along the way - I am interested to se how we get on against Accrington Stanley, who are slowly becoming like the old Wimbledon, in that you think 'they will hit a wall soon' yet seem to keep performing miracles with their resources. If I was a struggling club (e.g. Bradford) I'd pay big bucks to try and wrestle John Coleman/staff away from them.

No chance of that, he left Accrington before for Rochdale in 2012 who were then a league higher and went back in 2014. Seems that he and Accrington are a perfect fit, I think it would be brilliant if they were promoted again especially after all the 'experts' were tipping them for relegation

There's been some positives and negatives this season
Team has bonded well together after a rocky start
It was important to get a good reaction after the Blackpool debacle
Bayliss has been a good nucleus for our team
Chaplin could be scoring a bit more but no gauze for alarm just yet...

An escape goat captain. It's a bastardised version of the the common phrase 'scape goat' that I posted as a response to the 'gauze for concern' remark.
It's alright as long as you tow the line. :emoji_blush:
