I reckon Forest were being a bit cute there. They will know there are some positions opening up, and that Cooper might be a target for some clubs, so perhaps they are tying him in to a longer contract so that they get more compo and avoid having to fire him at enormous expense??
So they give a new contract to a guy who has picked up 1 point in the last 7 games .Pay him more hoping to get compo. when he had less than a year left on his current one.It might just be they are not like Watford and know what a good manager they have and want to give him time.I may be wrong but when things settle down they will move up the league. Even if they went down they would still recover more than 100 million of the 141 million they spent.They would also have a squad far better equiped than ours

I think it stopped being about managerial success years ago for him. Collected £8 million from Newcastle and probably another few today. Some people win the lottery once in a lifetime, he wins it every couple of seasons
'Destroy and Exit' is the technical term.
