Injuries can't be helped and to be fair, we've not had too many show stopping injuries this season (that I can think off...I'm sure there's some that have been out for a few games). It's come at a desperate time of the season for us, but after a season of turmoil both on and off the pitch, we still sit in the top 10 which is an achievement based on the first month alone. We won't get relegated (even with a points deduction of 10 points) but might still sneak a play off place. The important thing is not to risk longer term damage and continuing playing him so it's a right decision.

If we're still in this league next season (or still trading!) then he'll be better for having this surgery now and we'll have a fit LC for pre-season.

SP needs to get the most out of what we have left...it's a fantastic opportunity for the likes of Cody, Philliskirk, Wilson etc to step up to the plate and make themselves heroes by firing us to the play offs!

Neither are good enough to start in general, nor in a 4-4-2.

Cody can only play in a 442. His only real success was playing off a beast of a target man in Adebayo Akinfenwa at Gillingham-in a 442.

Let's do a Spain play a 4-6-0 with the front 3 being midfielders based attackers, something like Murphy (GK), Christie (RB), Edje (CB), Martin (CB), Stewart (LB), Jennings (CDM), Thomas (CDM), Bailey (CM), Moussa (LW), Baker (RW), Fleck (CAM)

NLHWC......Shhhhhh don't start him off again, he'll only "Browbeat" you into submission about 4-4-2 not being good enough lol;)

It never rains over Coventry City it pours
It's a big blow tbh. Even I find the play offs less likely without Clarke. He scores goals - simple as that.

Not sure about emergency loans though? Embargo or not? But then who?

I'd put a centre half up there and bash the opposition for Cody to feed off!
Anyone got other formations how this might be negated?...

Lets play the Spain way with 6 Midfielders!

I think it may be good to try Sheff up top givne our limited options. He says it's his preferred position and may be playing for a new contract?

I think he has the ability to score a few whack him up top with McDonald with Wilson/Ball as impact subs if two up top are not cutting it?

Great! That leaves us with Cody and Wilson for the rest of the season

They will fire us into the play-offs with a strength and fury this league has never known! Opposition full-backs will tire, center-halfs will be fooled and goalkeepers won't even see the shots and headers zipping past them into the net!

........OK, probably not, but we have to get behind the lads right? :)

I have a mate who played in the same youth team at Chelsea as Philliskirk (dropped out of Chelsea to go to uni). Interestingly he said similar things about him that Carsley did - very good technically but lightweight on the ball. Suspect he won't be used this season, doubt L1 would suit his style based on that appraisal. But if push comes to shove...he can't be behind Jeffers in the pecking order!
