Installing JS as new life president to divert the flack. willl it work?

will fans perceive this as JS backing the board?

Probably only did it to have a pop at JE after he was on Talk Sport.

Doesn't really make a difference to me, I think a Life President is a bit pointless. If anything Jimmy Hill should be it, whatever it is!

Its their last throw of the dice. Its a nice gesture, but thats all it is. Take a lot more than that to get us back on side im afraid.
I wait eagerly to see what comes from tomorrow. It really could be D-Day.

We now have more Life Presidents than experienced midfielders - JS, JE and Mike McGinnity. Still faster than Sheffers and Bell though.

As much as I love JS and congratulate him, this is nothing more than a cheap shot at SISU trying to get some cheap postitive publicity.

The more they do, the more I wonder how the hell they ever make money, or are even allowed near anyones money, as they are nothing but cheap amateurs.

Actually it probably wasnt SISU's decision..... cant see them caring one way or other.... likely to be made by the Board

Nice touch but really not high on list of priorities for the club

I would love to see John Sillett say a very public thanks but no thanks. That would show SISU just how much they are not wanted. But that would depend what side of the fence old Snozz is is.

I agree with Les Mis - please Snoz tell them to shove the gesture - tell them you'll become life president once SISU have gone and we have some hope. Its like appointing a new captain just after the Titanic hit the iceberg

He wasn't the greatest of managers for us, he was fortunate with the team he inherited and he had big George at his side in 87.

Made a small fortune from the Wembley final and spent it all on David speedie...... "shopping at Harrods" he said, "instead of Tesco's". Came a real cropper when George went upstairs and left him on his own.

People don't remember all that, but I do. I was a season ticket holder till from 1983 till 2002

I agree ML! JS should reply:- Thank you BUT I will only accept when and if someone who is in charge of this great club actually cares about it.

So what happens if/when th e Hoff takes control? Do they remove JS and reinstall JE? I thought life usually meant until you die. Perhaps in our case it's seen as a life sentence and you get time off for good behaviour.

So was I and still am - please tell me you don't think Speedie wasn't worth the money? He was ubelievably good and at £750k worth every penny. Now £800k on Drinkell and you have my support, but let's not pretend that Speedie was anything other than outstanding.
