It doesn't make people listen. It pisses them off.I’m all for the protests: good to see people of all ages wanting to engage in this. It is only by disruption that people sit up and listen. And if a few people miss their train, plane etc then so be it; you don’t make the world notice by not taking action. Whether it has a lasting impact I am cautious; the establishment will promise and then slowly backtrack. But it may lead to some permanent changes; not as many as the protesters expect or want but some.
The brexit vote showed that the democratic vote is worthless and the establishment carry on with their agenda...so voting for change has been seen to be pointless. History shows the democratic process is a sham when it comes to major changes in policy.
