Ha ha!!
More bad press for SISU......
He said:
"Yes I admit I made mistakes at Coventry, but not half as many mistakes as the people that own the club!"
Their biggest one was employing the useless c-unit.
No their biggest was employing Thorn as manager.
No their biggest was employing Thorn as manager.
They have led the club into financial oblivion and you think that Thorn's appointment stands head and shoulders above that?
As if. To some it might be perceived as the pivotal moment but if they employed the other brain cell they'd realise that it was just one of many ludicrous decisions.
That is why SISU have to go.
"On the pitch" this time last year the players stopped playing for Boothroyd....it was similar under Coleman. I have not once seen a similar capitulation this year.
Thorn has engendered a tremendous team spirit which is doubly remarkable give that he has had to work under intolerable constraints led, as we are, by muppets.
Look at JUKE'S recent comments as evidence.
It is because of this some still entertain the possibility of escape this year. It would be an unbelievable achievment and a testament to his courage and stickability.
We know he only got the job because of circumstances and because SISU are clueless but given we are where we are Thorn is our only hope. Sticking by him is the least he deserves.
I'm afraid you're wasting your time offering reason and sense DG. The squad that was barely good enough to stay up last term, loses it's only slither of quality - the backbone of Westwood, Turner, Gunnar and King, now added to by the loss of Jutkiewicz of course - and some people can still only find wisdom sufficient to blame the manager.
I note that in recent days, when people in the know of how duplicitous, arrogant, deceitful and and mercenary SISU have been voice their views; and I mean here Coleman, Jutkiewicz, Marcus Hall, et al that our friend Wyken has kept his head down a bit; fearful his twisted view won't bear scrutiny against the witness of those with first hand experience of the facade
Are you pissed?
Because Juke came out and said he feels sorry for Thorn doesn’t mean he’s doing a good job.
Football is all about Tactics and winning games and he is hopeless at it.
Thorn is living off his honeymoon period of 8 games. This season has been abysmal. I like everyone feels sorry for Thorn but that doesn’t exclude him from criticism.
Thorn would rather lose a game 1-0 instead of going to win games.
He doesn’t deserve more time because we’ve given enough already. If only SISU could afford to bring in someone else then the majority fans would agree.

haha kept my head down... its called having a job.
Remind me what good Thorn has done????
Oh dear; how unfortunate. Things are not black or white, right or wrong, hot or cold. The rest of us see shades of grey. You don't have to be the best manager ever, or the worst manager ever.
Most of us without necessity to use drugs to sedate the excesses of our cerebral cortex don't see him as great, nor the worst ever. We don't, perhaps see much good in what he does. Some folk, like me, might think he's a chap out of his depth in an untenable position.
I don't have to tell you what good he's done to not think he kills babies. It's called a balanced, considered stance
Because of the financial constraints and having lost eleven players since the summer.
I bet if we hacked your legs off and then asked you to run a marathon then you would also be "hopeless at it".
haha - it’s called getting the best out of a bad bunch. Anyone would think Thorn is the only manager EVER to have no money. Plenty of other teams have managed to stay up in much worse situations.
Look at the wonders S'OD (SP) did at Donny for years.
Worst situations?!?!
Those teams may not have been "rolling in money", but I don't recall them having their squads decimated in the way ours has been.
Realistically, taking players of the importance of Westie, Turner, Gunna, King & Juke out of a squad (with Crainie & Clingan also off soon?) was always going to lead to this outcome.
[Apology for the pedants - decimate is of course the wrong word to use as it implies we've only lost 1 in 10]
Constantly chopping managers has done us no good in the past. I think Thorn will go after relegation. All I hope is that whoever is manager next season they are given time to build a team. Whether that is Thorn or not.
Personally I don't think we have had many "bad" managers and the majority have shown this at other clubs either before or after managing us. I just think since relegation the board(s) of our club have had neither the means or the willing to back the managers in the transfer market.
To be fair though, Juke has only been gone for one game.
Don't think many managers have done particularly well after us, before us perhaps.
We're a graveyard of ambition.

I'll leave it with you now, Wyken. I fear this is not a debate of equals.
Sometimes in life, people laugh with you; and other times they laugh at you.
This day, for you, isn't the former....

Yes i agree but Thorn does not get the best out of this team in my opinion.
I just wish fans would stop giving Thorn the sympathy vote and actually look at how bad a manager he is rather then looking at the bad situation we are in..
No sympathy vote here. I don't think he is that bad or that good. He hasn't had opportunity to show one way or another.
No their biggest was employing Thorn as manager.
This is the statement that people objected to. The argument turning round to 'Thorn should be sacked and is useless / should not be sacked, will not be sacked, is not useless' is beside the point. You said that the biggest mistake ever made by SISU was employing Thorn, people called you on it and another thread was twisted round to this debate which only ever goes in circles.
Long and short of it is...
There are shades of grey, as someone previously stated. Just because you don't hold Thorn wholly responsible does not mean that he can do no wrong. 'Thorn apologists' state that you have to take his performance in the context of SISU; nothing more, nothing less. He does everything wrong in some people's eyes and nothing wrong in others... but the most common viewpoint is that there are elements of both stances which are valid and that Thorn should not be regarded as enemy no. 1 as regards our lowly league position.
But that's by the by... the thread was about Coleman having a swipe at SISU in a press conference to Wales. As stated previously, this raises him in my estimation. As also stated, that wouldn't have taken a huge amount.
Mark, please tell me what gives you confidence in him as a manager because no-ones seems to wanna answer that question.
