Admirable sentiments from this Wolves fan worth sharing I think:
My greatest sympathies to all Skyblue fans.
As a Wolves fan I realise that Coventry's current plight is a "there but for the grace of God" issue. I very much miss the old fierce rivalry that existed between Wolves and Coventry - even though a visit to Highfield Road could be quite a trepidatious affair for an away fan.
Many brilliant players have appeared for both clubs - Bobby Gould, Willie Carr, Ernie Hunt, Robbie Keane and several more big names. Among them one Emilio Aldecoaa refugee from the Civil War in Spain who later played for Barcelona with distinction for 3 seasons. And more recently (and with rather less distinction) Freddie Eastwood and Leon Clarke.
That such a famous club as Coventry CIty should have to suffer such indignities is a disgrace. Big Kudos to the Hillers, I hope the club give you all free season tickets for life when the club finally returns to Coventry.
I'd like to think that Wolves fans would show their utmost support for Coventry City and the club's loyal supporters at the forthcoming fixture between the clubs at Sixfields.
But I'm afraid that the knuckle-dragging morons that constitute a substantial percentage of the "following" of all football club including Wolves will merely resort to mocking chants and gleeful boasting. Please do not be mistaken. Such pathetic imbeciles do not represent anybody least of all our club.
Be assured that everyone at Molineux and all those associated with Wolverhampton Wanderers have the utmost regard for Coventry City and their current misfortunes.
We all look forward to the next match between out two great Midland's clubs in the Top Division of English Football (even if that is still the execrable Premier League) . IT WILL HAPPEN.
