What figures are you using for spend? £3.5m for Simms and £7.7m fir Wright? Or the full amounts.

Full amounts.

Interesting. I got:

Simms - 3.5
Wright - 7.7
Saka - 1.5
MvE - 3.5
Lats - 0.5
Thomas - 2
Collins - 0.6

TOTAL - 19.3

Vik - £20m
Gus - £12m

TOTAL - 32m

Balance - +12.7m

That’s estimates of fees without add ons. Seems the add ons roughly line up I guess.

Thing is Da Silva won't have been completely free, he will have had a signing on fee and agents to pay etc. Likewise Bink's and Ayari will have commanded some sort of loan fee. Very difficult to guage what our actual spend has been.

Would be interesting to do a wages in/out for the summer comings and goings if we had semi reliable information.

This year's incoming amount to 11.33 million
Binks 1.7m
Rodrigues 350k
Rudoni 3.6m
Torp 2.15m
EMC 3.53m

So taking 12.7m balance from last year minus 11.33m gives a new balance of 1.37m we did make 1.395m in prize money for the fa cup, leaving 2.76m

Basically the moneybox is empty if we spend 2.2m on Dovin leaving about 500k remaining.

But as mentioned above there would of been loan fees for Binks and Ayari, money has been spent on Ryton, wages will have increased, we pay rent on The Arena and I doubt our ticket revenue, sponsorship income, merchandise sales cover those costs so we will have been run at a loss and reliant on sales now to supplement income, here's hoping Vik and Gus move on soon!

Better not tell @BlueSkiesForever. Unless we sell Sheaf or someone like Simms I can't see us splashing out on any more big fees, and I guess we won't spending £2million on a reserve right back after all.

Shows to me how important it is that we develop some of our own players, and we have to give the likes of Burroughs, Howley, Andrews and Obikwu chances. We also need to look for more players like McCallum and where possible loans. We can't just sign multi million pound players.

Rudoni was 2 up front
Dovin allegedly 2
Torp was less than 2
EMC was 3 as we got money off him for waiting

Looking at the previous year, basically dead on apart from Tats 1.2 Lats 0.2 and Collins 500k

So we really should have another couple of million knocking about

Not sure if there will be any more major signings after Dovin. Think the likes of Obikwu, Burroughs, Howley, Tavares, Kai Andrews might have a bigger role to play this coming season.

I’d be really happy if they’re considered good enough but that we tried to sign Stamenic suggests to me that we’ll still be in for another midfielder.

Agree. Personally I feel we need another midfielder and defender and probably they’re still working on things behind the scenes, but on the flip side I suppose the youngsters have to be given a chance to show what they can do as that’s what we’ve been about.

As @Saddlebrains said, we have slightly more up front than that because of Rudoni, but I assume we also don’t know the details of those deals so who’s to say we paid all of those figures up front? I’m not saying we have or haven’t but it’s just a consideration.

Also does anyone know if we get any cash from Sky for their extended coverage this season? I could be massively wrong here, just the figure I thought I saw somewhere, but I believe it was a £950m deal? Or was it £95m? (Could be Dianne-Abbotting that one badly 😂) Also, I’ve mentioned it before but we don’t know how much cash Doug is willing to invest personally. It’s not going to be a lot if he does but it’s another consideration. We agreed £4.3 mil for Stamenic so surely that’s coming from somewhere as we already had that lined up?

We simply cannot rely on Howley, Obikwu, Burroughs etc to get us into the prem, if they do then absolute hats off to them, but that’s a hell of a ballsy/risky strategy.

If Robins considers the youngsters good enough then great, that’s good enough for me.
I had thought we’d be in for a CB, CM and ST but as others have said we’ve got a cracking set of forwards already.
I guess there’s a question mark over LB but sounds like we’re settling for what we’ve got.

I'll readily admit I don't know how much money we have for transfers. However the fact we didn't add anything in January to get us over the line when Robins said we needed it suggests to me there can't be too much left.

I don’t think anyone is suggesting Burroughs and Howley etc should be regulars, but I can't see the sense in buying a multi million pound player to sit on the bench behind van Ewijk when we have Burroughs, Latibeaudiere and Eccles who can do a job there.

Finally other than keeper and arguably left back i am not sure how what area of the team would be priority. I think we are fairly evenly strong across all positions, so it would take a major upgrade to improve any position.

Very fair points, I also can’t see us getting many more signings tbh but I do think a LB and obviously a GK would be really important to us.

The point about the RB is that I think £1-2 mil on a back up for Van Ewijk would be money well spent as we don’t have any options to rotate when we need to. Eccles and Lati can play there but it’s far from ideal if Van Ewijk is out for any serious length of time. A young improver at RB would not only be good for us but attractive for the player as coming from a lower league Belgian/German/Dutch team etc we would seem like a significant improvement.

£1.4 mil for Dovin, £1.5 mil for a RB and say £3-4 mil for a LB and we’d have a much greater chance of making automatics, let alone play-offs, this season. We really could do with Vik and Gus being sold this window 🙏🏻

Now the Euros are done I think the window will open up a bit. Our business so far is on a par if not ahead of our Championship rivals. We need to get a keeper over the line. Then we need two or three others. CB, CM 8, and an up and coming striker. RB possibly but I think Burroughs, Eccles and Lati can offer cover there.

We aren't far off. I prefer a lean squad for team spirit rather than a disjointed and bloated squad.

I think Obikwu and Tavares could be good off the bench next season, Simms isnt gonna exactly miss many matches and we have Haji who will start ST if Simms is unavailable, unless the right loan comes in Im happy at ST
