Yeah, I got that feeling too. I like that it seems he's done his due diligence.

This is a massive job for him. Would he have taken over at Preston, Millwall or QPR? Don't think so.

If you looked at the attacking players at his disposal at Everton, a few weeks before he got the chop -

Demarai Gray, Maupay, McNeil, Onana

I'd take Sheaf, Wright, Bassette and Sakamoto over those.

Now break that down and see how daft it looks:

Onana or Sheaf

Maupay or Bassette

Gray or Wright

McNeil or Sakamoto

The only one I’d think about is Gray vs Wright.

Happy with this. If you want a coach to bring out the best of what you've got, who better than a man who has lived it. I'm certain the players will want to impress him. I think we will see a lot of fringe players stepping up. New slate and some much needed freshness

Can I just ask, who out of the likely candidates would people not have been “underwhelmed/disappointed” with?

Are people so far entrenched in the idea that anybody other than Robins isn’t good enough for this club? You’re determined for this to go wrong…
Who has said they're determined for this to go wrong ?
You are allowed to be underwhelmed by any new signing whether it be player or manager and still support your club

Who are the success stories of big name players that have been successful managers? (English football only)

In fairness how many of them go into management?

"Not gonna lie, I logged onto," looks at phone, "Blue Sky Talk and 49.7% wanted me in the job. In Premier League terms that's well over 100%, good enough for me".

I think I would have been happier and totally sympathetic if Robins had wanted to take a short break away from the pressure ( perhaps a month or so whilst grieving) whilst Carr and the others took temporary charge ….and then came back in to handle the January transfer window.
Alas we can’t turn back the clock and a relatively impoverished club is now paying two managers.

Head to toe in Hummel, even found him some fresh trainers.

Bet Doug is gutted we didn't get RVN as they could have compared turtle necks.
