You seem to be Anti-Robins if you don’t agree he was a holy and untouchable god who deserved freedom to do and get whatever results he wants.

I’m not anti-Robins, but I do feel that we should’ve been doing better at certain points and calling for change which I’ll freely admit I thought he'd lost his way, way before the Derby game.
Agreed. Time was up. Is a legend and always will be, for what he did for us.

There really isn't an anti Robins brigade.

I don't agree. There's a band of posters who've been calling for his head for a while.
Now they want to try and diminish what he achieved.
I'm sure you've got better things to do than check but there are posts trying slating everything from L2 promotion onwards.

It's really weird. Now Lampards here hopefully they'll give it a rest because I can't be arsed responding to them but if they come out with their drivel I will.

Anyway

Are you happy with lampard ?
Yes I am happy with Lampard, I do think maybe there were better choices out there but if you had said to me ten years ago that in ten years time we would have a manager who has coached in the Champions League, Premier League and is one of England and Premier League’s greatest midfielders ever I am sure I wouldn’t of believed you.

Was shocked not to see Aled Williams being given the boot.

Was really hoping we were going to bring a keeper coach in, especially those rumours we had of Shay Given

As with all of the remaining coaches Frank will want to give them a chance to prove themselves first, before making his decision to get rid.

Anti Robins is not the same as saying his time is up.

I'd be shocked if any of the so called "anti Robins brigade" don't love the guy for everything he achieved at the club.

Were Brad Collins and Jay DaSilva both at Chelsea during Lampard’s time there as a player or manager?

Agree with your first line.
Not everyone who wanted him gone was motivated by anything other than thinking his time was up

But it definitely goes a bit deeper for a few. It's very strange given what he's done for us.

Must admit, I've been calling for him to go. However, I remember the way he brought us back from the depths of shite. He's an absolute legend. Here's hoping Lampard can take us to the next level. Not my first choice, but he's here. Let's get behind him!!

Blokes just scored a screamer against me on fifa and all I can think is
“How the hell is the legend of the game my clubs gaffer”

After watching that press conference I am cautiously optimistic. Speaks a good game certainly.
He's very bright and handled some stupid questions brilliantly.
I'm very pleased with the two coaches he's brought in,both have great records working with young players and many of our squad fit that profile.
Like you I'm cautiously optimistic.

I think what I like about lampard is that it feels like I've got the job. By that I mean he loves football. Is knowledgeable and wants to play style I want to see.

That don't mean it will work but I'm excited nonethless
His humility has certainly struck me in the few words I’ve heard from him.
It seems he appreciates the opportunity just as much as Doug appreciates him choosing us.

Its very interesting hearing someone with such a stature in the game talk about us as a club like that

Some nice mental gymnastics here

Tbf i actually think his answer about style of play was his weakest.

Everybody wants to play attacking front foot football. It is hardly a groundbreaking style of play (admittedly it's a poor question)

What will be the real judge is if we can actually see a style of play. Robins attempting to make this team play a more dominant style never really worked, so let's see how it materialises over the coming months.

I say this as somebody who is optimistic about the appointment btw.

Say what you want about Doug King, it is clear he is a very very intelligent man. If it’s true he really isn’t interested in football, it has to be said he has well and truly thrown himself into this project, talks a good game and his hands on.
Him and Lampard both intelligent men. Like you, I kind of like it when he's obviously completely done with a bullshit question.

I liked that he didn't give away ganeplan though. Seemed secretive ahead of Cardiff game

Agreed. If it’s true Andy Turner has been a complete pest I love that Doug can openly antagonise him. It’s nice to have a face that is willing to be held accountable compared to the many faceless years of SISU

this may go disastrously wrong, but he’s nailed his colours to the mast, and no doubt will own up to that if it does and for that I have respect for him.
