He seem like a proper finisher. I know its been said, but it really does make you wonder where Bakayoko and Hiwula fit in. Without a formation change, I can't see them getting any significant game time. I mean, Hiwula came with a decent reputation and played 43 games at this level last season, so surely he wouldn't have come to sit on the bench. That means he either plays out of position or we change our style / formation. I hope it's the latter, but I'm not convinced it will be. Perhaps our squad is just too bloated right now.

Right foot, left foot, long range, short range. Appreciate the level of opposition but pretty comprehensive display of finishing there.
Obviously loves playing for Pompey. Let's make him feel at home.
I like the way he strikes the ball early and doesn't give the defenders or goalkeeper time to set themselves.

Having had the (mis) fortune of living in Scumpton for 3 years, I can confirm it is a bigger dump - even without my blue tints on. Think house prices and crime rates there are another level. Not pretending Pompey is a rich man's paradise by any means. Far from it - it's certainly not as wealthy as Bournemouth or Brighton, the two other south coast areas with football teams, but it isn't even a contest that Stainsville is the biggest dump down south!

I live on the outskirts of Pompey and used to work at Southampton FC. I can tell you that although Pompey has its shit areas (like everywhere), it’s better than Southampton.

And by and large, the people are much nicer in Portsmouth as well. I just found the majority of people in Southampton...well, just a little bit weird.

I've lived in Southampton and I now work often in Portsmouth.
I have no meaningful connection to either city and in my opinion Portsmouth is by far a bigger dump than Southampton.
Leigh park is one of the most God forsaken places I've ever had the misfortune to come across.

No one can moan about Robins not being supported now. Robins has finally got his main target and we’ve spent money on two others, at least £700k on Chaplin, Bakayoko as well as Hiwula on an ‘undisclosed’ fee.

Overall, I’m happy with our transfer business this summer, but time will tell on Robins and his signings.

Leigh Park is in Havant m8. The best part of 7 miles from Portsmouth. Roughest council estate you’ll come across. The only time you see two people walking together is when they’re handcuffed.

What wages would we be paying a week to Chaplin?

Why?
You want to sell him a vacuum cleaner?

I guess it’ll be like 1/4 odds (25/1) if he finishes in top 3 places?
You might get better odds if you stated at bookies top three or four, try a local bookie before going on line think it might be better than 25/1 especially as he hadn’t scored or even got a regular first team spot yet.

Yeah, was thinking that, but you could have 6 or 7 players come 3rd, all on the same goals. Could be a few come 2nd too. Would they pay out then on all 6 or 7?

Obviously it's not as definitive as a horse race.

Each to their own and all that.

You do know that Leigh Park is Havant though, not Portsmouth??

We didn't play hoof ball when we completely dominated the game against Gillingham last week
No I know this, but it’s different every week isn’t it. Just cautious as lots of people have been screaming out for him saying he’s the answer when actually it’s been a tactical circus

I don't think small details like that are that important surely.

That's like saying Bedworth's not in Coventry!

Really doesn’t matter tho. Not sure where he grew up (as a Pompey fan) but I doubt he’s been living on that Havant estate while he’s been playing for Portsmouth.

Similarly he will be living in Leamington as a Cov player rather than Holbrooks.

Haha. Maybe getting my Leigh parks and paulsgroves mixed up. But yeah each to their own, and every city has their share of dumps.
