Many callers on 5 Live say the insurance won’t pay as the virus is not listed and needs to be to meet terms and conditions
Take a look at GSMA and MWC, it was cancelled but the GSMA wanted the Spanish government to declare a state of emergency to claim on the insurance, once that was leaked to the press it was the end of that and it was cancelled. Now hundreds of companies could be out of pocket.Would be interested to know why you believe insurance companies are telling venues they are not covered for voluntary closure but would be covered for a government imposed closure if they are then, should the government impose that closure, going to turn round and say that isn't covered either.
My wife is quite senior in the pub industry and said exactly that yesterday. They’d be better off if the government advice was to shut all pubs because then insurance would kick in. Who has most influence in government, the insurance or hospitality industry?Would be interested to know why you believe insurance companies are telling venues they are not covered for voluntary closure but would be covered for a government imposed closure if they are then, should the government impose that closure, going to turn round and say that isn't covered either.
It's impossible to say, there has been far more testing going on here compared to the UK by the looks of it so who knows how many cases there actually are in the UK, only time will tell, unfortunately.@Sick Boy With our new measures ramping up and the chief medical inspector saying our cases could start to reduce/slow down in 2-3 weeks, do you think we'll have it as bad as Italy?
Can't speak for them but I've spoken to two mates who own venues who have both been told by their insurers that they are covered if its government imposed. Many callers on 5 Live say the insurance won’t pay as the virus is not listed and needs to be to meet terms and conditions
Yeah we won't be able to tell on official cases but hopefully we won't see the carnage in hospitals that Italy has seen in places like LombardyIt's impossible to say, there has been far more testing going on here compared to the UK by the looks of it so who knows how many cases there actually are in the UK, only time will tell, unfortunately.

If anyone feels inclined can they sign this petition. I know most of the times petitions do nothing but it will only take a second. More details from the Music Venue Trust:
An Open Letter to Boris Johnson, Prime Minister, United Kingdom
Let's hope not! As i've said, it wasn't taken seriously here by the general population until 2 weeks ago, let's just hope that there won't be the same outcome there.Yeah we won't be able to tell on official cases but hopefully we won't see the carnage in hospitals that Italy has seen in places like Lombardy

We are also unlikely to have 80 percent of cases in 1 region eitherHopefully not. We have less ICU beds than Italy so we could be in real trouble if things do get bad.
We don't see to have the same concentration of cases in 1 area. London is a worry but it's nowhere near lombardy levels.Let's hope not! As i've said, it wasn't taken seriously here by the general population until 2 weeks ago, let's just hope that there won't be the same outcome there.
My bet is the government will back the insurers as they’ll have shares in those companiesMy wife is quite senior in the pub industry and said exactly that yesterday. Absolutely agreeCan’t help but feel people really haven’t grasped the seriousness of this. All this talk of “lol I’ll just carry on” when the message from government is very clear that you won’t. The plan is these measures are here until a vaccine is with maybe small breaks if NHS capacity allows. Reminds me of what @Sick Boy was saying the Italians were like two weeks ago.
I may have got my figures mixed up, lombardy may have 80 plus percent of the deaths and 90 plus percent of the cases on a Much larger number of cases.59% of the cases in this country are in London and the South East, 44% in London itself. Not quite as bad as Italy.
Stop it you’re probably pissing yourself off now being all that!I see that since the Imperial College study was taken seriously, all mention of ‘herd immunity’ has quietly been dropped. But that study was available 7 weeks ago so essentially we wasted 7 weeks experimenting & messing around on something which could never work. And the BBC are saying “the science has changed”- no it hasn’t, you just ignored the right info and forged ahead with rubbish.
when the dust has settled, that may go down as one of the biggest blunders in decades.
No but its looking promising were 5 points clear with a game in hand. Apologies for the missing punctuation i think my phones got covid 19.Is it over yet?!
He's also talking bollocksStop it you’re probably pissing yourself off now being all that!
But what happens if it returns? Do they keep doing the isolation stuff? That may be the answer I supposeI have some Taiwanese pen friends.
It's quite amazing how they have been able to tackle Covid-19, despite only being 110 miles from the Chinese border.
Just 67 cases. 1 death.
Fear of China Made Taiwan a Coronavirus Success Story

I am still right, I have said measures would be implemented when they think it's the best time. I know you will to be revisionist with your ramblings but let's not lie here.Except he’s not. You were all over here banging on about how they were right for days on end, and you were 100% wrong, and there is nothing that can change that fact. Thankfully sense has been seen.

No I did you lying little fuck. You're fucking delusional mate. You need some fucking help.no you didn’t, you said that the herd immunity approach was right. Constantly. Now you’re doing a Matt Hancock and pretending it was never the plan at all and they’re just waiting for the right time.

lol, you have it bad don’t you. I understand, you got duped, don’t take it personally, plenty of others did too.So while the proven liar has a time out shall we discuss the possible implementation of a universal income, the required amount and it's benefits on aggregate demand

Is that the proven liar posting? Just says ignored user. I do hope he gets the help.he so sorely needs.
Now if we gave everyone x amount of money to spend to help increase the aggregate demand in the economy would it work as a short term.boost? If so how how much would be needed? Bare in mind traditional QE is ineffective for this as it doesn't trickle down to the macro economy and must props up balance sheets
