We ain't looking too hot either chief
Ay but we've never had it under control and impossible when people act like. Idiots like the 1000's last night from London deciding they want to spread it around the whole country, national lockdown again come mid January maybe as strict as the first one no schools no work ect.

35,928 cases today. Last week 18,500 (although 2,500 Welsh cases were not counted at the time so 21,000 really). Huge week on week jump.

Yeah, not good. I reckon that new strains already elsewhere. Birmingham (in T3 since end of lockdown) has seen cases go up 25% this week (and cases were 567 today after being around 300 up to a few day’s ago)

Just an absolute bitch with the timing

I dunno - shit looks pretty normal in Australia and New Zealand
Not really fair comparisons to. The uk though are they?

Australia is 3/4 the size of America and 25m population vs what 300m?

New Zealand 5m population vs UK 70 million.
New Zealand is what 10% bigger than the UK with not even 10% the population.

I should of stated my original comment was any major country

New strain will be everywhere now. Even in other countries.

Well could compare infection rates and deaths proportionately

All 3 of us are islands.

They got control of it pretty well, which included some very sensible restrictions in terms of people coming to and from the country.

Our response was and continues to be a fucking shambles. Only the USA and Brazil have responded in a worse way than us.

Not saying our response was great, but I know not one person in our goverment would have responded any differently.

Also the uk maybe a island but we are a hub for world wide travel, alot of layoffs happen here and many other European cou trys.

Sorry I’m confused - are you saying we’ve responded in the same way as countries like Aus and NZ?
But talking about Australia, they found the new strain there the same one they found in London so who knows what's gona happen now, just have to live with what the goverment set and stop being selfish pricks.

Yes the foreign Office permitted Interntional travel the others didn't,and when they did they enforced a two week quarantine.
We didn't .
They decided they would attempt to keep it out
We chose a different path.

So are we? Don't see your point.
Well you said we have nothing else in common.
But the point I'm really making is they enforced harsher measures at the risk of becoming unpopular and decided to implement them.
Now their populations are happy they chose to

But Australia are still suffering with it, new Zealand just didn't have enough population density for it to spread.

Yes Oz have had a couple of wobbles that confused them .
And had other harsh measures intruced.
NZ has been like keeping from a large capital admittedly from a lower density per mile, kilometer etc .

And that's why it's gona spread like crazy, noone is gona follow goverment guidelines, we are tier 3 we are allowed to mix in Xmas day.

Millions have sensibly stuck to rules all year. I don’t blame anyone for losing patience. Not missing out seeing intimate family anymore.
