What are the side effects though? It seems they encourage you here to register if you get a sore arm after somebody jabs a needle into it. I wouldn't call that a particularly worrying side effect myself!
Surely they sussed him when he turned up?
apparently not. I’ve googled it and she isn’t the first
The thing is that 6 weeks was already pushing it to the maximum gap Pfizer’s data was reliable up to, and we’ve doubled it. An educated punt is still a punt and seeing as the first recipients were the most vulnerable of all, it’s higher risk than I would like.
Again we only switched to this idea once the numbers started turning for the worse. I defended the decision on the basis of ‘protect more a bit than fewer fully’ but only because the situation demanded it
Yeah it’s a punt, but equally choosing to let people die if you’ve got a good idea this’ll work is equally a punt.
Honestly think it’s the smartest thing they’ve done all pandemic and they’ll be justified. But as I said at the start, we’re all just guessing both ways until the data is in.
Also, again, if it doesn’t work and we’ve injected a bunch of people with only 60% instead of 95% protection, that still saves more lives in the short term and buys us time for other developments.

Right, I’m not disagreeing with the decision as I supported it when it was made. My only point is we were forced into this because we’d handled the outbreak so poorly
My girlfriend had a sore and swollen arm after the second jab and a mild temperature. Her grandmother has had both doses and no symptoms whatsoeverWorst I’ve heard are mild flu like symptoms and a sore arm.
Isn't that the driver for new strains thoughThey believe pretty much that herd immunity on the original strain has been achieved in most states
He's just stating the obvious though really and the UK govt tbf has in its assessment of risk and benefit that a 3 month gap makes sense. If one dose is stopping serious illness then the UK govt will be vindicated. Appreciate that he wants to see evidence if efficacy beyond 3 weeks, I'm pretty surprised Pfizer hasn't tested that itselfCOVID-19: Vaccine doses shouldn't be more than six weeks apart, scientist behind Pfizer-BioNTech jab says

It's almost as if the economy isn't already effectively controlled by massive corporations and high financeSome conspiracy bollocks that world leaders and Bill Gates created the pandemic to completely change the economy and people's behaviour so they are in permanent control.
Fresh stupidity emerging from Scotland with proposals for distancing of all pupils, not just of putting the teacher in a box as the previous norm. This isn’t close to a decent education and is not worth rushing back for. Wait till the summer term for Christ’s sake
I’m sure a press conference is looming
Her kids are vaccinated fully so she's not an anti-vaxxer, just worried about unknown side effects with it being developed quickly. I've tried telling her it's safe but she's still worried and I don't want to berate her and put her off it just to piss me off.

It’s got a robot in it that’s delayed for a year and then grows in your arse and explodes out on your birthday.

SO UN-FAIRNot a problem. Have you tidied your room?
Just found out that a now ex friend (fortunately not a close one) has jumped the vaccine queue using some linked leak. What an absolute c**t. A healthy 36 year old
My kids are saying that home learning is no different to school at the moment. Aside from seeing their friends on a daily basis. As I keep saying, the education being received in schools is heavily compromised because the teacher is so restricted in what they are able to do. Add in that kids spread it around within year groups like nobody's business and the idea has minimal educational benefit and will send transmission right back up.
If you further restrict what the children can do even if they are in bubbles then the benefit is even lower.

Where would you stand on refusing to send your kids and insisting that they continue to learn remotely until the adults in the house have been fully vaccinated?
Despite the noise - there is no school or local authority that will sanction you at all if you chose to do this. Especially local authorities which have made it clear they will not pursue anything in regards to Cov-ID.My kids are saying that home learning is no different to school at the moment.
