Leaked docs show more restrictions could be on the way in the UK.
People are pissed with lockdowns bit thsy also want them, cant have both either lockdown or dont. How long has Omicron been with us in the UK now, two weeks nearly?
Has there been any record of any deaths from it in the UK or indeed worldwide?
The restrictions in place currently are tolerable in my opinion, but I think anymore and people will start to seriously get pissed off. We've been essentially back to normal for 4-5 months seeing things pick up again with the economy and people's mental health & well-being
Fingers crossed this will be the last time we restrict for a new covid variant

It's too early to be making presumptions and this is going to keep on happening until people look outside of their own countries and actually understand it's a global pandemic and the overwhelming majority of the world don't have access to vaccines. Its said that omocron puts 1% of cases in hospital (most mild) compared to 4% of delta, so even if it is mild if it spreads 10x worst than delta it be still a strain on the nhs, im against lockdowns but i also can see the point if it needs to be done, albiet it font affect me.

Are you a time traveller or something?Nobody in the world is going to hospital with this Moronic strain or even dying from it
Your facts are wrongNobody in the world is going to hospital with this Moronic strain or even dying from it
South africa have loads of vaccines just noone wants them. What I see developing here is a cycle of the wealthier nations buying up vaccine supplies in reaction to each new variant that emerges from countries that can't afford them or don't have the infrastructure for their own vaccination programmes.
This will be self perpetuating unless the chain is broken and huge assistance is given to a global vaccination drive.

Aint signing up, all i know is south africa have the vaccines but no demand.

Not a single fucking one. Why is the UK media the only one kicking off about this???How long has Omicron been with us in the UK now, two weeks nearly?
Has there been any record of any deaths from it in the UK or indeed worldwide?
The WHO have not updated their figures since Dec 4th, the virus has been present in the UK for what - 2 weeks or so?Not a single fucking one. Why is the UK media the only one kicking off about this???
Im going about normal life tbh, I’ll wear a mask sure but if any further restrictions come in I’m ignoring them
Is It True That No One Has Died with Omicron Variant?
Early studies indicate the strain may cause less severe COVID-19 symptoms compared to its precursor, the delta variant.www.snopes.com
Really?
Take it you didn't watch Bayern v Barcelona this week if you think the UK is the only country with concerns. Why is the UK media the only one kicking off about this???
Talk about privileged. Aggrieved for being offered a third dose of a vaccine that many won't get the opportunity to have. I'm embarrassed for you.I'll be trying to book my booster for next week
I feel a bit aggrieved that I'll have had 3x covid jabs in 6 months and that I personally think the Omicron variant is overhyped by the UK media, but if it helps to do my bit to keep restrictions limited then so be it

Given the choice of having the third dose or giving it to someone else who may be more at risk than me I would choose the latter.Talk about privileged. Aggrieved for being offered a third dose of a vaccine that many won't get the opportunity to have. I'm embarrassed for you.

Think I'm going to go and get boosted.
I know its the right thing to do but i just cant shake the nagging feeling in my head that 3 in less than a year just isn't right.
The pericarditis/myocarditis is the worry for me as i have an arrhythmia
Given the choice of having the third dose or giving it to someone else who may be more at risk than me I would choose the latter.
Yes I do mean it. There are people statistically more at risk than me (as per the NHS website) and if it meant that my dose went to someone abroad that haven't had the number of vaccines that the UK had that are more at risk then I wouldI assume you don't mean that.
Why does it "seem excessive" compared to what?Given the choice of having the third dose or giving it to someone else who may be more at risk than me I would choose the latter.
I'm assuming the 'many' you mean are those in other countries worldwide? Do unused does get distributed elsewhere if there is no take-up?
Forgive me for thinking that three doses in six months in which my last one was in August seems excessive. I don't think my age group would've been offered the booster if it weren't for this variant if I'm honest

Sorry, I misunderstood what you meant. I thought you meant risking giving the virus to someone, not giving them your booster.Yes I do mean it.
