I had just got myself well enough to start work again after major health issues and then this thing comes out.
Oh well. One of them,
Oh well. One of them,
This is what has been sent
GOV.UK CORONAVIRUS ALERT
New rules in force now: you must stay at home. More info & exemptions at gov.uk/coronavirus Stay at home. Protect the NHS. Save lives.
Seems daft not to. I don't get that at all.
Belief?I think the belief is it won’t really achieve anything as there is no cure and nothing that advance knowledge will actually help if it’s a family member already in isolation
Not just that. If the economy tanks completely and we end up in another Great Depression then a load of people are going to die on top. I’m sure the haggling is about how we can keep deaths from the virus and from the economic impacts at a minimum. If it turns out full lockdown for 2 years is the only way of stopping it but that would kill 2 million (random figures obviously) then virus is not the worst of things.
Belief?
Should test everyone who has come into contact with someone who has the virus. Then they can make sure they keep away from everyone for as long as is needed. It is too late once they are showing symptoms themself.
Be interested to know if that's related to lack of vapour trails .Didn't quite emulated them! Building up to that one.
Seems I'm going to have plenty of opportunity!
Good old British weather, sun comes out as everyone goes on lockdown (ish).
I didn't say spouse though. Everyone who has come into contact. Good chance some don't even know. The spouse already has to keep away from everyone for 14 days anyway under the current rules so testing her doesn’t change anything

It is self evident in that they had to let NHS England take over the functions of CCGs immediatelyThere's definitely questions that need to be answered when this is all over. Hopefully it won't just be a shrug of the shoulders and 'nothing we could do'.
Seen this floating around on twitter today:
https://chpi.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/CHPI-report-GettingBehindCurve-Dec-2013.pdf
It's a report from the Centre for Health and Public Interest assessing how the changes to the NHS made as part of the 2012 Health and Social Care Act impact its ability to respond to a pandemic. Doesn't make good reading for the government.
Don't think 'we couldn't have predicted this' or anything like that is going to be enough.

Seem to remember similar after 911.

As I said above everyone might not be aware.Youd assume anyone who is aware enough to get tested is aware enough to self isolate TBF. I’d rather save the tests for NHS staff right now and ultimately build up stockpiles so when we hit the next wave we can do proper contact tracing and public testing this time.
Was it?The conversation was about testing his wife?
Correct and I see none of the western countries have a solution to this with their varying strategies of King Canute isolation
What’s your figure? How much GDP loss is a life worth do you reckon? You seem to think you’ve got the number.
Sorry to hear that PLSRPR.I had just got myself well enough to start work again after major health issues and then this thing comes out.
Oh well. One of them,
Leave his superb graphs out of this please. He needs to fuck off back to his unreadable football shite pronto
Yep I agree don’t see how this virus just goes away even with a vaccine they need people to have itThere is nothing I’ve seen in any strategy that’s actually going to eliminate the virus at all. All medical healthcare systems all under the world let people die on economic grounds anyway. It does happen. What I cannot see is an endgame. This virus isn’t going away and never will be fully eliminated - if I get it and the outcome is I die I die but my children need a future that’s worth actually living for

I don’t either it’s not going away they will have huge numbers who won’t have a vaccine, worrying timesI get the need to spread healthcare systems to a manageable period but I actually think people believe it will just vanish
Just seen a similar thing on Twitter from radio Solent, will post if I get the chance.
It may weaken just to survive .I get the need to spread healthcare systems to a manageable period but I actually think people believe it will just vanish
Seems that’s what’s happened in China very positive their lifting the lockdown tonightIt may weaken just to survive .
I think the government has handled the whole thing incredibly badly but I wouldn't have wanted the job they have had to do. I am an engineer by profession, (retired 20 years ago) and I know that you have to work to codes and standards written by the experts in the various fields. If you have followed the codes and some major incident happens, you are usually in the clear because everything would be based on best practice and best available techniques (BAT ironically). If you ignore those and things go wrong you are in major trouble. Thats all I am saying.Convenient. By that logic no politician should ever be held accountable as they always have expert advice.
You're on "THE LIST"Anybody else had a text saying to stay in?
No idea how they got my number!!

My pal is telling me China is loosening up their lockdown tomorrow ?

"Media will not play"- what is he saying?
There was an article I shared from BBC today saying no country has an exit strategy. It’s wait for natural herd immunity to develop (which it might not) or a vaccine, or adapt to this new situation of limited social contact and working from home.
