50k is a huge salary for anyone who hasn't lost track of reality.
Can't afford to save on 50k or more a year? Living beyond your means. Too much debt when you shouldn't need debt. If you can afford to save you should be able to live well on 2.5k a month.
No need to do a Billy Big Bollocks especially at a time like this.
Exactly, from liverpool to the championship teams to us and whoever's istop of the national league. United and Chelsea who sue as wellCan you imagine the amount of court cases the premier league & EFL would have in their hands let’s not forget SISU batter people in court altho I’ve not seen them win one yet
The latter is trueBack on track.....
The governments took a bumming recently with the handling of this. But surely these numbers are showing that if anything, out of everyone in Europe, we've done the best at keeping numbers down?
I don't want to talk too soon, and if course the numbers will go up before the affect of lockdown takes place, but either We have nailed things to the day timeframe wise or our containment phase pissed all over what anyone else was able to do?
I think there is something to this.Just hypothesising here, but could be that quite a few people started taking things into their own hands a week or so before the government as it became clear the issues in Italy were serious. That would mean you’d see some impact around now.
That said we’ve seen two or three day stalls before then it getting back on trend.

We're potentially on the same path as FranceBack on track.....

Being ahead of the advice.
How measurable though?
Anybody's guess.
Theres a long horrible road still to go down, but if we nail this, and we will know in the next 10 days or so, but if we do nail this, then the government, medical advisors, NHS, in fact the whole country should be immensely proud of ourselves.
Not wanting to put a curse on it of course but so far so good. Well as good as over 1000 deaths can be. RIP to all of them

France went harder than us but I'm sure Astute can tell you more as he knows what Macron will do before Macron doesWe're potentially on the same path as France
Grendel just said that somebody on 50k will have expenses that match their salary. That is undoubtedly true. Yes making savings is very affordable on that salary but a lot of people don't, they instead spend more on property and goods.

But many of these would have died anywayI've just spoken to one of the guys who works with me, his grandfather died last Wednesday, probably not of COVID-19 but they need to do a post-mortem blood test to confirm - they are still waiting for the test. This means that if he test positive he will go into the figures when he's tested rather than when he died. Makes you wonder how many bodies they still have to test and potentially add to the figures!

Many people die in hospital at the end of a long illness from pneumonia, and that is marked as the cause of death
In reality, it was there immunity closing down , which meant they then contracted pneumonia
I suspect covid-19 is very similar
Or as a family they decide only one of the two parents need to work
I think there is something to this.

I can't swear to this but I think I've read something suggesting it's the immune response that is bringing on the pneumonia. But many of these would have died anyway

But if they then can't live on £50k pa then they made the wrong decision or are spending beyond their means. Plenty of families with both working don't get to £50k in total
He's "If only he had been more attractive. This could go in many threads.
Correct- the body does not recognise the alien infection so does what it knows how to do, floods the area with its own cells, which causing inflammation on the lungs, pneumonia and basically you drownI can't swear to this but I think I've read something suggesting it's the immune response that is bringing on the pneumonia.
They describe the lung's filling with debris rather than fluid through.
I agree to a point but there are methods in play to prize them from it .well then someone who can’t live on £25k a year and have that removed for a few weeks have lived beyond their means so should not require support
What about a family that earns £50k and invests every spare penny in a pension, and lives well within their means? Does Astute have any sympathy for them?Or as a family they decide only one of the two parents need to work
YepAgree with what you've said there.
I think ze Germans take some credit though. Their numbers are decent - if that's a term that can be used in such a scenario. I know it's all down to medical provisions and testing etc. but still.
again it makes me question what Italy and Spain have been doingIt seems strange I admit
