tbf (and I agree that some comments recently have been a little OTT) it's more an example of Johnson reverting to terrible humour rather than having a policy.
Now personally I could see why he might just make a quip to relieve tension, it might be his way of coping with stress, so I'm not going to get hung up on it, but it does fit with the narrative that we need a politician rather than a comedian in charge.
That being said, they have an uncanny knack of nominating people I'd like less than their predecessor, so I'd rather Johnson than Raab! I also think, in a situation like this, the country needs a leader, a figurehead. To not have one puts us at crisis point psychologically. I hope he gets well soon, for his sake, and for the country's.
Now, if everyone could just take a deep breath (ahem) for ten minutes and stop attacking one another, it'd be lovely.
