Plenty online regarding vaccinations mate I’ve always looked into the ingredients of them some of the stuff is strange

Yeah I wouldn’t listen to the anti-vax nuts mate. Up there with flat earthers. Im sure chemicals sound scary when you just read them off a list but they’re all tested and safe, this is a good article on vaccine contents: How a Vaccine Is Like a Banana — and Why That's Good

The source is someone I know who works in admissions. They operate the 135 rule. It’s a real concern that the grades required for admission are awarded - what then? It’s also a massive concern that many universities need overseas students or they face bankruptcy - so first choices see a situation where all uk students are offered the grades - then it’s oversubscribed by an enormous amount and the second choice preference is ignored and starts begging for places. It’s a nightmare for them
Yes and no.

I’m hearing that universities are, as of today, already offering unconditional offers (and confirming firmed places) based on predicted grades that just meet their requirements when over the past few years unconditional offers have been made on students who are predicted grades that exceed requirements.

On the whole today’s news is good news as it should mean that September intakes will go ahead when there was a growing concerning that they would need to be shifted to January.

A LOT of universities are teetering anyway (and there are some big names being banded about) due to the costs related to the OFS, the lower demographic of UK 18 year olds and Brexit which will mean a massive drop in EU numbers but the reintroduction of the post study work visa is a massive life line.

At this stage we don’t know the effects that corona will have but currently the lights are on and burning brightly for international students coming into the UK and pretty much every uni is seeing the benefit of this, however, you only have to listen to the (excellent) speech that the Warwick VC released yesterday that this could potentially cost them 30mil and that’s Warwick. You have to worry the effect it will have on the smaller, modern and less international universities in the UK.

Cov will be affected no doubt but they are one of the biggest recruiters of international students in the UK so should ride this storm but there will definitely be bumps in the road ahead.

At the moment the country has been on lockdown for a couple of weeks and for the most part it’s being taken seriously compared to before but over this week 40,000 have been caught out for no valid reason and fined.

There is no plan to isolate the elderly but everyone is supposed to stay at home and only go into the shop closest to where you live (alone). The problem is that the hospitals and ICUs are so stretched that treating people is being done based on their age.

In Bergamo the army were out transporting coffins as there is now nowhere to keep them, it’s beyond depressing.

Apparently they think we are approaching the peak but Verona could be one of the next hotspots as there has been a sudden increase in cases and deaths here too.

My partner and her family are doing ok thanks for asking. She is currently very stressed working in the hospital and she often has to stay at her parents’ due to where her job is based (up in the mountains) and her dad has vetro high blood pressure so is considered high risk, especially due to her job.

Technically she isn’t supposed to do her journey but has been doing it but it looks like they’ve got more restrictions coming in which would make it even more risky for her to travel, so it’s all a bit shit really.

The lockdown is currently due to end on the 3rd April but I reckon the 2nd May is more realistic.

My worry is Spain though as from what I can tell it has the possibility of ending up worse than here. Seeing

Seeing it from the outside it seems the UK is heading towards a tragedy, I’m genuinely very worried about it. I admit that I was not taking the situation seriously a month ago but after this year people there should be taking it seriously and the government trying to protect its people more.

All the best to you, your family and wider family mate

I hear you mate I’ll give that a read I’ve also read some of the ingredients anti freeze, weed killer & metal fragments,it’s a minefield this subject I feel vaccinations hence why the numbers are probably so high why people don’t vaccinate.

I spend between £50-£100 week on fuel. I claim some back as business mileage but dont think that £4 daily saver and a mocha latte from Costa is an average...

I'm just glad some agree with me at last.

If we would have hid from it we would have been in the same situation when we got back 'to normal'.

The way forward seems ti be keep the infection rate to what the NHS can cope with. Then hope that they can come up with a vaccine ASAP. The longer this goes on the worse it will get.

Why is it important if people agree with you? Doesn’t mean your view is any less valid than anyone else’s just because they don’t agree with you, it’s just as valid- it’s a football forum full of bored, mildly stressed & frustrated football fans, not a WHO think tank

Not for this thread but vaccines are merely another way of pharma companies extorting money. My first instinct would be to refuse it, but then you think about the people you might infect yourself and it becomes a much tougher proposition.

It’s already compulsory to have vaccinations at birth at some countries, I believe there is a stupid number you have to have in USA whether you like it or not. In some places you can face big fines & other sanctions for refusing to have them, and they are linked to autism & other problems. Different topic, but vaccinations are an incredibly murky and sinister topic.

Yeah...hope you're ok Sick Boy. And Hill. And Tisza. And Brighton.

In fact, this is all rather shit isn't it?!

I'm totally confused by the whole situation if I'm honest. I kind of think that theres an element of overreaction - rightly or wrongly.

However this week, it became apparent that my decision 10 months ago to take a promotional maternity cover may now mean that at the end of May, I wont have a job. 5 months ago...two extremely senior VPs in my company commended me on taking a positive jump to this role and said I'd be fine at the end of it. Step forward Coronavirus to put a massive virus sized spanner in the works.

I'm lucky that me, my wife and my boy are happy. Not sure what that next 3-6 months hold but I'm going to remain positive for the sake of my boy.

Onward and upwards people. Here's hoping that football returns soon...I cant believe how much I've missed people arguing with whether Max Biamou (remember him?!) is any good or not...

I didn’t know that don’t know how they can do something like that

personally, I’m building a mental list of companies that I will never, under any circumstances give a single penny to ever again once this is over. This is where we see if an organisation deserves our cash. So far we have Wetherspoon & Britannia Hotels and the other one whose name escapes me right now :)

we should all do the same- hit these bastards in the pocket when they come to us asking us to spend our depleted funds there when this is over.

How come you’d be at risk now, just out of sight out of mind or something?

And your tune hasn't changed?

What gets me us people that lie. And over something we are only guessing about.

I am not happy that people are agreeing with me for agreeing with me. It is all about the situation. But to you it is all about point scoring and Boris bashing. But it is much more serious than that.

All of them

there is a list on Twitter, Cov is included. Immediate dismissal, hand your keys in, one guy had to sleep in a tent
Imagine living in a foreign country working a shitty job on minimum wage. Worried about you family back home in Italy or Spain when someone gives you this.
They're live in staff as well so lose their accommodation and, according to the news reports earlier, some can't even travel back to their home countries because of restrictions.

who is lying? Points- it’s a football messageboard pal, you may be overthinking it. And as for Boris bashing, if someone is doing a shit job would you rather we all pretend he’s doing ok?

An utter disgrace. One company I will never use again.
