Getting very strict out here now, up to 600€ fines for not going to your closest shop for essential items. If caught just buying booze or milk for example again up to 600€ fine as not classed as essential. Buying water from the supermarket (we can't drink tap water over here) but a closer shop up to 600€ fine etc..... Busses won't accept cash, travel cards only and you can only get one of those if you can prove your an essential worker. Only one person per taxi, taxi's won't risk it as 1000€ fine if caught with more than 1 (unless it's a 9 seater and then can take 2 but on different rows of seats.

Only 16 new cases here today, so after yesterdays increase we have a downward movement again. That is 3 out of the last 4 days. How are your figures Sick Boy and hope you are well.
I’m good thanks mate, how about you? The number of new cases has continued to decrease, which is a good sign. I think I’m a couple of weeks the full impact of the lockdown will begin to show, so hopefully there will be more progress then too.
I think by June things will have returned to some kind of normality here.
Fines for breaking the lockdown here are now €3000.

683 more deaths in Italy with 5,210 new cases

wtf is going on over there why are they getting so many new cases a day ?

Looking a lot like they’re over the peak. Deaths and cases will come down at a similar rate to how they went up.

Did anyone see the article in a weekend newspaper that shows that the vast majority of cases are in a band across the globe with a temperature range of 5c to 12c?
Could that offer a glimmer of hope?

And apparently only 6% of cases are in areas which have had temperatures above 18C

This is the theory that led to Trump saying that the virus isn't a problem and it will disappear when we get to April and temperatures increase. The problem then comes in Autumn/Winter when temperatures drop. They have seen it in America on a few occasions with flu variants, get hit hard, think it's gone away when summer comes then when temperatures drop it comes back harder than it hit originally. The only positive is that it buys time to find a way to vaccine and protect the vulnerable.

Anyone else still going to work and largely unaffected so far aside from the roads being blissfully quiet. Also haven’t got the Mrs nagging me to go somewhere at the weekend.

Aside from the impending sense of doom and worry of when my missus will see this post of course.
Edited.

I'm no fan of Johnson or his handling of this but this is a can't win really, people were clamouring for daily updates a week ago and now they're not worth it.
It's the same questions.

They were right you are quite condescending

More ideological nonsense like Blair has. Even the slightest thought would tell anyone with common sense there’s no such thing as competition in public services.
As price is fixed, the competition was supposed to improve quality.

Good news that figures are still going down :) and glad you are well.

As for me, the lock down is ok, the first week was the hardest. Sort of getting used to it now.

Slightly worried as my ears are playing up (not sure how to explain the symptoms but just not right and never had it before), got the trotts and cold almost permanently but neighbours are sun bathing. Got a cough but not dry and my nose is irritated all the time. Stomach feels like i've had a strong curry and back is killing me. The problem is i suffer with a bad back anyway so lack of movement could be making it worse, I suffer with celiac so that could explain stomach and trotts, also take antihistamines daily as i suffer with irritation. So could just be all my problems kicking off at once due to confinement. Read a new report out here that lot's of those symptoms have now been diagnosed from people that have it. So yes confused. Will just continue to isolate and hope for the best.
