Bolsonaro giving Trump a run for his money as a complete headcase.
I reckon Trump has to spend about an hour each morning deciding what the worst thing he could say would be - and then says it.

It will all be over and you will be back at work in 15 days.

Friend who lives in the next village to me just said that he was ON HIS PORCH smoking as it's a non smoking house and the police told him to go back inside or 1000€ fine. I know things need to be strict to stop the spread but that is crazy.

NYC looks genuinely scary. Their cases are exploding and they only have a fraction of the medical capacity needed. Andrew Cuomo's reaction when the federal government gave the state 400 ventilators was very telling.

I saw some figures that New York State has about 3,200 critical care beds and they project that they will need over 35,000

England numbers not in yet ??

No and it’s obvious that fatalities will rise. If it isn’t rising in the next two weeks the government went too early on lockdown - there has to at some point be escalation of deaths here and also Germany

80% of recent warnings for the self employed, could if been done 2 weeks ago and there looks like there could be a number of exemptions such as claiming universal credit which they told the self employed to do.

Nice to end the day on a positive note so here is goes...

Dyson have confirmed receipt of an order of 10k ventilators from the UK (they are also building a further 5k which they are donating around the world, 1k to UK)
Total deaths has risen but only to 463 (so I think 30 in total today)
Finally some decent amounts of protective gear has arrived at NHS trusts (sounds like it needed the army to do what civil servants obviously couldnt !)
400,000 volunteers to help NHS (amazing number in 24 hours !)
Progress on the testing (not sure about this antibody one yet but fingers crossed)

As price is fixed, the competition was supposed to improve quality.

Theres no competition when you’ve just had a heart attack or been robbed and the only competition for schools is who can afford to buy near the rich kids. It’s a total illusion. Schools, hospitals, police forces, all work as a system not as individual actors.

Good to hear. Every death is a tragedy but it is good to see it isn't spiralling out of control.
