2 weeks for me today, i'm finding the isolation ok(ish) but the mental side is doing my head in.
When on the phone to people i find myself not finding the words to say what i want even though i know what i want to say (it's like my brain is just shutting down), put a film on and my mind is else where after 10 mins and the next thing i know the film is 40 mins in.
Got at least another 2 weeks of this (can't even chat to neighbours over the balcony as they went back to England before the flights were cancelled). I think it's the silence more than anything what with being on my own now.
Don't help with my sister having it and now one of my best friends seems to have it.
AAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
Stay safe everyone and STAY THE FUCK IN!!!

Been told the schools to open over Easter and my holiday is cancelled. FFS only 6 kids in out of 200 and were open. If I win the lotto tonight I’m buying Matesx a bottle of John Powers, Nick a new Audi and I’m going to spend it on women and drink and waste the rest! Oh and put a few quid Robins way to buy who he likes with a sell on clause.
Keep safe everyone 8 nights without going to the boozer first time more than a week in 30 years of going every night God it’s a shock but worth it to keep us all safe.
No where to go tbf COAB .

How's it going with your sister Pipkin?
1 day ok(ish) the next day rough as fuck, but she does not have breathing probs yet, so fingers crossed. She has a great husband who will look after her really well and if it turns he will make sure she gets looked after (after all she works for the NHS so they should look after them if they deteriorate due to looking after patients and risking themselves).
Spoke to her a couple of days ago (text since as i don't want to force her to speak) and she said she just wants to get well so she can go back to work when well and cleared to do so. Fucking brave these NHS people.

They press are reporting on a 50 percent survival rate for patients in intensive care but surely this dangerous reporting as the mortality rate for icu patients could go up or down as this goes on.

It feels wrong to report things as facts based on incomplete data.
Yeah does seem a bit off as unless they've had an outcome for 100% of patients they can't report either way yet. That said, it really doesn't sound promising if you get to that stage. People develop ARDS which is approx 33% death rate anyway albeit linked to underlying health problems.

Talking about underlying health problems, at the moment your ok in the UK as you can go out to exercise but over here it's not allowed (will the UK follow suit eventually)
I worry about people with diabetes etc (like both my parents) who are supposed to exercise to keep it away but won't be able too (could be many more deaths depending how long this goes on for due to other illnesses).
Read an article yesterday about an old guy who never ate for 10 days as he was to scared to go out and a carer (luckily) found him. Must be loads of these type of cases. If you know an old vulnerable person by you (without getting too close) check up on them, you might just save his/her life.

The figures they have are for 165 patients which is far too small a sample size.

I think the Spanish authorities have reacted strangely. GC is very very different from Madrid, rules that make sense there do much less where you are.

Tell me about it, but the cases are growing after days of decline. We are hoping that if we clear the curve we will be allowed to get back to normal and make a living again (i won't be able to until tourists return i guess) but atleast others can.

He was an absolute bellend anyway but I like a spoons and go to the city arms a lot. But after this he can fuck off. It’s not even that much cheaper anymore anyway.
Me and my wife run a pub in a working class area of town, we employ 7 staff who are all
Paid above minimum wage ‘the longest standing has been with us fifteen years and the
Newest five months.
On the Friday pub closures were announced we had two working On the night and all of
the others came up on the night to say there goodbyes.
We and the staff ended up having a very emotional lock-in and a good last night together,
We assured them all that they were a hugely important part of our business ‘and that we
Fully intended to re-open as soon as given permission to do so.
They were all told that we would continue to pay there basic wage for as long as we could,
We are not a big operation and we rent not own, so it was very welcome news when the
Government Announced they were going to cover 80% of their wages I will still cover the
other 20% ‘But surely this is just the correct way to react in a situation such as this.
The reaction from Tim Martin and Wetherspoons didn’t surprise me in the least ‘and really
Shouldn’t anyone else, they are Fake ‘they try to emulate community pubs but nothing can
Be further from the truth, they are money making machines the same as Asda, Tesco etc.
If/when this is all over they will be there all shiny and beckoning everyone in with there free
Local advertising, microwave meals and drinks offers, I really hope people remember their
actions when the shit hit the fan for everyone......but sadly I doubt it.

Watching Click this morning is so rewarding seeing all the scientific technologists produce cheap ventilators . Example one for £500 Euros , suitable for third world Nations.
3D printed components so they can be assembled locally .
The old adage crisis and adversity are the mother of all invention rings true

The travelling community who just carried on .
The Govt for not prescribing on travel .
