What’s that got to do with anything? Boosters just top up existing immunity they don’t add immunity.

the graphs as you well know showed adult vaccinations and we are still ahead compared to many European countries in that measurement

Yeah but it won’t improve things. Just stop them getting worse. My issue is we got to about 60% and basically gave up trying to get people vaccinated. If ESB wants life without restrictions we need to push that number higher.

I think experts agree that herd immunity can be achieved when somewhere between 80-90% of the population is double vaccinated. If anything the growing urgency around boosters is a measurement of failure not success.

The next year should produce a lot more data around herd immunity now that half a dozen countries have achieved about 80% fully vaccinated.

we got to 85% of adults - I’m not overly keen on injecting under 16s anyway. We can’t force those not vaccinated who are adults and the most at risk to get it

Anyway , cases dropping aren't they , 214 deaths a tad too high tbh , would be 78k deaths a year .. ideally (although the word ideally is not something we should say but is realistic ) we want to be aiming towards 30-40k a year ( if this is never going away , in the short term atleast

Bring in vaccine mandates for various jobs and activities like other countries, get the kids vaxxed, get the messaging out there. Anything else is just farting around the edges.

I haven't been railing against the vaccine , I said my daughter wasn't getting vaccinated.. I have had both jabs , my daughter also now has antibodies as she's had the virus , the vaccine wouldn't have made a jot of difference as she tested positive the day after she was due to have it

I 100% still think we should not force anybody to have a vaccine they don't wish to have .

Seriously though, your right to swing your fists ends where my face begins. If it comes to it I don’t see why your fringe beliefs should trump my life getting back to normal. Hopefully it won’t come to it and you can have the luxury of your beliefs without impacting others.

Whilst a further 1600 deaths shortly after vaccine weren't investigated enough to determine conclusive cause .

When somebody gets a vaccination they know the risk , as with anything there is always a risk , ofcourse the pros massively outweigh the cons and somebody like me was happy to take the risk , I agreed to it .

Some people aren't and that's fine , forcing them isn't the answer , nobody is disposible to reach a goal

The thing with the QR code is that you can show a test (as you have said), so it gives an option to those who don´t want to get vaccinated. The QR codes are also really easy to fake and a lot of people are getting the ones that say they are recovered from the virus. That gives you a QR code that is valid for six months. Add onto that, about 80/90% of places are not actually checking anyway, and the whole thing is a bit of a farce. I do expect that to change somewhat though, as new restrictions come into place here on Saturday.

Regarding your first bit I disagree. We’ll sort of. It won’t go away like the flu hasn’t gone away but it’ll be far far less of an issue.

Regarding your second of course there’s issues but end of the day their vaccination rate is about ten to fifteen percentage points ahead of ours. France was the same after vaccine passports were introduced. And they’re one of the most vaccine sceptical countries on the planet. Their numbers would be way lower without it.

It’s not some thought experiment we know vaccine passports work to get people vaccinated so let’s do them.

I call BS given you vote and champion a government hell bent on reducing workers rights on everything from cancelling the limit for working hours to changing the rules on holiday pay. If Amazon treats its employees appalling its because you vote for a government that facilitates them in doing so and it’s only going to get worse for Amazon employees if the Tories get their way. That’s before you even get into the workers rights already lost under 10 years of the Tories, such as them placing a 1 year limit of wages as compensation for unfair dismissal.

No. Heard of a lot after the Euro final but people 2ho watched in pubs rather than being there.
Knew a fair few including a family member ho got it at the Libertines in the old cathedral.
