I love this notion that the club should be ringing around to consult with customers and asking if they can put their prices up. It’s so quaint.
King wasn't here last seasons that isn't a mistake he has to live with. The price is the price. If we go down the price will be reduced and no doubt people who couldn't afford championship football in a box will come back. No, they have had one season of cheap prices. The post COVID season was always going to be cheap, many clubs offered big discounts, and many companies had paid for a box the previous season that they hadn't used once. They had to take that into account.
Last season there should have been a rise, that was a mistake.
Do not understand this 'fuck em' attitude though. For me, the club builds for the long term by engaging with supporters and with local businesses, by carefully balancing pricing between affordability and raising revenues with an eye always on maximising attendances.
The short term, charge what you think you can get away with policy is risky, especially as the uplift in revenues really isn't that big. Things change quickly in football, we may well find ourselves back in the 3rd tier in a few years. Need to build bridges, not knock them down.

Well King will soon find out won't he! If they end up vacant it won't impact the atmosphere. Obviously would lose cash on it but it's his call.
Irrelevant if the target audience is not the same, which it seems it clearly isn’t.Because it would've given the club a semi-accurate steer of the furthest they can push a price increase.
No, it's good business. There are only 30 odd box holders and when a company I worked for had a box, Tynan was on the phone every 10 minutes. Imagine a business consulting with their customers ahead of a 200% price increase, how bonkers is that
As I said before if they don't sell them out for the whole season they will do match day packages that will carry a premium too. I do think a decent number will still be sold I doubt the club will lose money. May not make more. But isn’t that what we’re talking about here? No one mentioned atmosphere. We’re talking about the potential of many boxes being vacant and the club losing out in the long term

The club can have a relationship with local corporates through various avenues. They don’t owe everyone a box at league 2 prices.

You’d be surprised who uptakes these things - I worked with a law firm up north and they had boxes at Burnley, Preston and Blackburn. They’d have paid a premium for them boxesThe target audience is exactly the same. It is local business.
Also, nobody has said the club owe anybody anything. Argue the points being made, not those you have made up in your head

They’re losing out by not maximising revenue from them too though. Time will tell if the chosen price point pays off.But isn’t that what we’re talking about here? No one mentioned atmosphere. We’re talking about the potential of many boxes being vacant and the club losing out in the long term
Going round in circles on this. Similar to the season ticket stuff there will be loads of noise and when it settles the likelihood is it will be fine.but then that would look stupid on the clubs part. From having every box sold to potentially half being vacant is a dangerous game to play and trying to sell on a game by game basis. also the money made by bar sales could be impacted too.
you could look at someone like Ward and Rider who would likely take the club up being a local firm. There’s a number of professional firms that would pay the money. I’d imagine this is the target audience of King - not the mad hatters and their coked up mates
Well they won't.
If I remember rightly, they back tracked with the original season ticket prices in the end didn’t they? will they do the same with corporate?Going round in circles on this. Similar to the season ticket stuff there will be loads of noise and when it settles the likelihood is it will be fine.
That’s around 10 out of 30+ boxes which still leaves over 20+ boxes.Fraser's will have 4/5 of them. CBS and Jaguar will have a few. There's hardly that many to go round.
Matchday Boxes | Birmingham City Football Club
To use an example of a similar sized club but the demographic is entirely different these are Birmingham City's prices for their hospitality boxes.
Essentially it looks like we've set our prices roughly the same as their most exclusive box or to highlight how inept the club are, we've aligned it to a city which is the UK's 3rd richest city in terms of GDP.

£27,000 plus VAT and you have to sit inside.

They backtracked slightly but will have increased revenue no doubt. If I remember rightly, they back tracked with the original season ticket prices in the end didn’t they? will they do the same with corporate?

people are grumbling now because they have to pay Championship prices - we couldn’t keep on charging League two prices
The target audience is not local businesses, it’s whoever will pay the asking price. The target audience is exactly the same. It is local business.

I doubt itThey will sell them out
Ok - if the club wants fans to treat it as a take it or leave it consumer product then so be itI love this notion that the club should be ringing around to consult with customers and asking if they can put their prices up. It’s so quaint.

The whole discussion is dissatisfaction of the pricing. A number of people have referenced that they are a local business or have been a supporter for years. The clear implication there is that the club owe them some loyalty for this, presumably cheaper prices, so yes that is what is being argued.
Why would they have 4/5? Jaguar don't associate themselves with the club from my knowledge. CBS will likely have some granted.
You're looking at 5/6 taken at most by the above.

There are many ways of building customer relations and gauging pricing levels and phoning round customers doesn’t seem a good method to achieve either.Ok - if the club wants fans to treat it as a take it or leave it consumer product then so be it

Stadium sponsors and partners. They'll be in on it 100%.
JLR were just an example of a localish business that will be keen.
