also speaking to sponsors today. both G&R and excel have been told they have to pay 3 x what they’ve paid previously to continue to sponsor on shorts etc… King is playing a dangerous game.

Guess we see how good a salesman he is!

As a club if we have been selling ourselves short in these areas for a number of years, then we should be aiming to bring these prices in line with our competitors in the Championship.

Could this have been done gradually with better communication, so that interested parties had more time to prepare? Probably.

Many on here don’t get it. Corporate experience is shocking. it’s certainly not worth £100 a game. many are not renewing and you’ll be lucky to sell out every box with new clients.
So assuming we do sell out then are you prepared to accept you are wrong and apologise?

I will. I’m reading the room and it’s very similar to how the reaction was for season ticket prices and look what happened there. As I’ve stated, I’ve spoken to several people who had boxes and non are renewing. Time will tell

My brother had a box through his company a few years ago, the experience is pritty bad. As others have said, it's a hotel room, that they've stuck a table and a few chairs in. Apart from having your own bathroom and table service for drinks, it's absolutely dire. Unless it drastically improves, the new price isn't justified at all.

By way of comparison, check out the Instagram account ‘thepaddedseat’.
He goes to different levels of corporate hospitality at mostly football grounds in England but other countries too….also shows prices per game.
Be good to get him to do Cov, but just seeing what you get and the respective prices and different packages is interesting - granted, comparable championship clubs such as WBA and Middlesbrough probably have far more lucrative sponsorship deals and prem money to spend.

that’s where the issue lies for many. when you think of corporate you think VIP treatment but it’s certainly not what you call first class service. You pay for what you get and the price does not reflect the service

West Brom and Middlesbrough don’t - admittedly the experience needs to improve. But the prices should be matching these teams

The price should only match once you receive the same experience. currently it doesn’t hence the backlash from all who currently are customers in corporate. take a look at the Twitter replies.

you seem to be forgetting one massive flaw in it. the actual money spent each game by fans in corporate on a matchday. I.e takings in the bar etc..

How much of that do the club actually get?

Another thing I thought of, which is clearly where a lot of certainly prem and championship clubs make a shitload of cash, is the amount of hospitality available….. whilst we’ve got a fair bit, it’s all confined to one side of the ground…. Other clubs will have it in more than one stand so can offer more options

must be a lot because Rob was asking fans last season to spend more money in the boxes rather than going the casino or anedcote before and or after.

That was based off the prior deal which mirrored the wasps deal that gave corporate money to the club wasn’t it?

But what is three times more in real money.
I have a mate who has a box and has told me it’s going up double what he paid last year.
Doug King has stated he wants top businesses locally, nationally and internationally to become involved with the club.

The backlash is from people they don't want in corporate. Trying to price them out. Time will tell if sales are good. I'm in Club Coventry and just renewed x4. Price hurts but it was so cheap the last couple of seasons it was only a matter of time and the club needs money to keep competing at this level.

nationally and internationally involved. That’s not going to happen overnight. if you think big multi million pound companies will come in and swoop all boxes then your very much mistaken

I did hear that having additional boxes has been looked at, could they build some across the back of the north stand ?

I don't think he meant in the boxes to be fair. Sponsorships and advertising.
