I think it’s an ill considered stance from the Tories.
The Cov Labour Council, (Ann Lucas and her team), were (choosing words carefully) very helpful in getting Wasps into the City.
Let’s say SISU eventually win their appeal, Cov Council May have write a big old cheque out. That’s taxpayer money. The Tories need to be pointing the finger directly at Labour.
The Tories have a reasonable chance of getting more councillors elected if they encourage a new stadium to be built and are shown to be supporting construction, small businesses etc.
And let’s not forget, the Boris mantra is “build build build”.

That's a beast.
Until the Ricoh issue is resolved we have to go down the new stadium route.
Thought the tory saying was build, build build?
Interestingly, if they had gone for the exact opposite approach and backed the new stadium (if it is real), they might well have won a few more votes.
I am really giving up on politics these days, the obvious and logical ideas seem to be avoided every time.
Both of the new cov MPs are an improvement on those they replacedShe’s pretty good and will engage as a local MP
Their reasoning being that there are a lot of expensive houses with owners who vote conservative at Gibbet hill lane and nearby. So they should not support it...so block it?
So to be clear, the Coventry Conservative party want any talks of a new stadium to be blocked or not supported...? What an odd stance
