Good to see the city stewards in attendance and not Blues own staff, had an interesting conversation with one. He was in block 26, dark blue hi vis, seen him at the ricoh a lot.

Not holding out much hope, but he is adamant Wasps are wanting us back due to a potential stadium namings right deal falling through. As we know, it hasn't technically been the ricoh since 2015. Wasps were on the cusp of a deal with a 'large worldwide brand ' who pulled the plug due to the bad P.R associated with the move to St Andrews. The company (who he didnt name) wanted CCFC as part of the ground.

Cost the insects the best part of 10 million for a 10 year deal apparently. Also confirmed casino is struggling and Grosvenor royally pissed off as they say an average of 800 people per city game go through the doors , spending an average of £75 (his estimate) 23 times a year. So 63 grand a weekend times 23 league games is over a million.

The wanker vessel is sinking already. Brilliant news

Always find it ammusing how hourly paid stewards, paid to police football fans have so much inside information.

Boddy said a similar thing to some guys we spoke to in the pub. Apparently still in talks. Holding out for a good deal.

Clive mentioned something pre-match. Wasn’t really listening but think it was that Boddy and his equivalent at Wasps are on good terms and still talking.

It's good to see that the case. I feel all it needs is someone with half a brain to tell Dick Eastwood that financially at least, they have monumentally fucked up by forcing us out. Be interested ti see their first game attendance ( take 10k off for free tickets)

I’ve said fook em every week we stay away we are killing them. We go back so soon we are keeping them alive.
I’m happy to stay at St Andrews for now the Ricoh has never made me feel welcome whilst either paying £1.2M in rent to the council or the London Wasps. Fook them both. Plus the pitch is shit after they have torn it to shreds.
Short term pain and let’s see the Wasps shit the nest and the council and the trust can suck shit through a straw as far as I’m concerned.
Good win today and nice to see a good support following the team.

Have no idea if any of it is true. Suspect it isn’t but We need things to come to a head this time and finish. No more short term deals. If it means a bit extra time away and we come back with a sorted future I’d be behind it. Just hope we’re working towards something.

Having worked in the security industry in the past, you’d be surprised how much info you’re given.

Some of those points are pretty common sense. The issues with stadium sponsorship have been reported for a while now. The rest is common sense - local businesses are not going to be happy with the situation of having 10,000+ potential consumers gone overnight.

800 spending £75 on average ?. That’s about 20 people with a huge gambling problem as most people I know have 3 pints tops and go to the game

To be honest it wouldn’t surprise me if a few people lost a bit too much in the casino before the game.

I imagine there are some corporates who like to spend a bit in there and a couple of hundred quid to them is nothing. Then you’ve got the away fans who treat it as a day out and go wild!

You don’t really go to a casino unless you’re willing to spend a bit!

I was there today.it was a good game and a good atmosphere. However if that is our only game at St Andrews then good. It is still one too many. We need to be back in Coventry ASAP. Our absence may be hurting Wasps but it is certainly harming CCFC as well. You don’t have to be a genius to work out that an average gate of 5k or so will leave finances well down on last season. This is also beside the point that our club should play home games in Coventry, no where else.

Pretty irrelevant when everything has to be given the OK by Seppala.

Was told the sponsor is Vodafone - they have already installed 5g in the stadium. But reluctant to sign up for stadium naming atm. Only passing on what I was told.

If W**ps are wobbling already before their season has started, surely, just surely a protest at their first game at the Ricoh should be looked at... come on "trust"... what have you got in your locker... (apart from free wasps tickets and free tickets to all the councils functions!??)

Maybe your right, just not my experience of going there. For everyone having 2 pints, it would mean someone spending £140

I’ve never actually been in the casino... does anyone actually go there for just a few beers?

Happy to sit it out at St Andrews then, wasn’t sure if I was going to go but decided yesterday I was going up with my lads & was going to take it from there very good day and will probably be there all season now can only see attendances growing tbh with everyone coming away happy & positive if the team really gets going it won’t be long before other stands are opened. With all Robins has done with the club & where he’s taken us it’s only right we back him & the team hopefully more will come to the next game.

I watched a couple of guys playing the roulette table before the game and they must have lost £300 in an hour. So can imagine that there would be quite a few of the 800 in the same boat! Frightens the life out of me! Us moving to ST could possibly save those guys marriages LOL

Got a mini bus to St Andrews yesterday, dropped us right next to the turnstiles and away he went. Met us 100 yards down the road after the game where the road closed and even after waiting for a few stragglers to arrive I was in my local boozer at 5.50pm even after dropping 1 set off in Allesley village.
Not a real ball ache. I know its not our ground but you cant say its a struggle to get there and support the lads even if you go to the odd game it helps the club money wise.

I was pleased to see we’d brought over the more helpful / polite stewards. Stewarding at the Ricoh was becoming a joke (not just football it seems though - look at the concerts over the summer), so made a nice change.

I went in via turnstile 5 and the brummie stewards weren’t half protective over which doors they could / couldn’t open for disabled folk. You’d think since it’s a door, any of them could be opened? Apparently not. Son some disabled person was being dragged (ok, escorted ;)) from one turnstile entrance to another and back, all because I’m guessing the Cov stewards hadn’t had the same instruction.

But I won’t dwell on what was actually quite a smooth running day

Wouldn’t want it to become too regular but i can’t grumble

I can see the trusts reaction if we return now:

“Thank you Wasps for going the extra Mile”
“ our work maintaining relationships with the council and Wasps has led to this”
“Tim Fisher and Joy refused to meet us”
“New Owners and German model - 51% to the fans”

Yes-heard that Vodaphone was the new sponsor. That would be some massive loss if they have pulled the plug on it.

Good on Vodafone I say, they clearly recognise including the CCFC brand has way more potential than Wasps on its own.

Not sure Vodafone are exactly backing away. The Ricoh is one of their 5G launch sites and they are this season's wasps kit sponsor.
