At least Everton Weekes was actually named after the club by his dad, as they were discussing on TMS just last week. The legend goes that he explained it to England spinner Jim Laker that it was because his dad became an Everton fan whilst over here, and Laker quipped back "well it's a good job he wasn't a fan of West Bromwich Albion, then!" Sadly Everton died at the start of July. One of the true greats of the game.Conor Coventry, midfielder... was being lazily linked to us in January for a loan based (presumably) on name alone.
