Sat in a pub in Usk. Still soaking wet through!

Hyam and Burge were incredible with their stops today. Shipley and Vincenti were really poor.

Great point looking at it is I don't think we were up for it enough.

Newport is a real shithole by the way.
Hey someone gave you a shout out on the radio pre match today, is your first name Matt? Or maybe a mates?

Great point today. Take that all day. Just a shame Mcnulty was off form.

Keeps the important unbeaten run going.
Including unbeaten away form. Massive point away from home.

Always good to get something when your not at your best. A game we would have lost 2 nil few months ago.

Superb shout out to the 1500 sky blues!

Superb support. Stuck with the team. Worth the soaking.

Just back. We were poor to say the least. Lucky to get a point to be honest. Burge pulled of a worldie to keep us in it. I have no idea how he pulled it off. The only other bit of quality was Reid’s cross to Biamou for the goal.
For me Reid has to start. Made all the difference when he came on.
Pissed down the whole game in a stand with no roof and kiosks didn’t even take cards. 3rd world country Wales.

Have to agree - thought we were very poor. Talk on here of an inspired half time team talk by Robins are a bit off the mark as we were shocking for a lot of the second half and I thought the changes would never come. Really got to up our game in the Iast few fixtures or we'll miss out.

Finally back home, in the warm. Terrible ground and awful weather. Not a great town either. For me we stole that point, I thought we were dreadful for 75 minutes. However, we dug in and got the goal. Coventry sides of the past would have bent over. Doyler everywhere if bereft of any ability so my MOM. Onto the next one.

In the grand scheme of things it's an excellent point and we had favours elsewhere to boot.

Shame we didn't manage to win it but never turn your nose up at an away point. Newport aren't easy to beat at home and the condition weren't great. Just concentrate on next game now, one at a time.

Was expecting 3 today... will take 1 as long as we get 3 Monday.

McNulty didn’t look happy to be taken off, moaning as he came off and robins just blanked him.

Good old max took his chance. fair play , nice to see him get that

McNulty didnt seem his normal self. Coming off the back of a hattrick I thought he had two good chances that he should've put away, or at least got on target. Shipleys header just wide early on I thought was goalbound too. I was on the right hand side of the end so didnt see how wide it went.

Congratulations to Andy aged 65 on making his 92 league grounds. I suspect it might've been the bloke in the queue with me that drinks in the Painted Lady.

The 92 League ground thing is a bit woolly now that teams come and go. Its a moving target. Today's was the 120th stadium I've seen City play in, and I still havn'te been to all the clubs that are currently in the top 4 divisions.

watched the highlights and thought we looked poor and did not stop them crossing into the box having said that though! we are still getting results which is a good sign. When is Ginger going to defend the ball on the back post? Again he is not attacking the ball and waiting for it to come to him and the attacking player out muscles him everytime

I thought David Pipe played well for them. He also came over and clapped both sides where the Coventry supporters were. Fair play to him.

I predicted 2-2 before the game so will settle for a draw, especially away at a team who are very hard to beat at home.

I’m very positive for the run in, we’ll get play-offs at least which is almost more worrying because I’ve seen what happens when the City have our own future in our hands, something like below:

I’m visiting family in Cov so have bought tickets for Yeovil on Monday and have tickets for Notts County because more family live in Nottingham.

Let’s be glass half full and go into those games with confidence, we can rarely do that as Cov fans! For once we have positive feeling, let’s get behind the team. IMO, at the worst we will probably take 45k to Wembley again.

Yep especially with these new grounds popping up. I’ve got 3 left out of the 92 to watch city. Cheltenham, Fulham & Bournemouth. But then I’ve not seen City play at West Ham & Man City new grounds etc. Only the old ones. My personal opinion is the 92 to watch your own club not just any team.

I venture it was not a "good point".

Admittedly, It was one of my draws in a 5-3 split for the last 8 games, but was the one I thought we had most chance of winning. The crucial gap with Wycombe - the thing that really matters most - remains 6 points as they drew when we need them to lose. The gap could have been 3 points with a game in hand. Yesterday cost us a net 3 points in strict terms..

The Cheltenham, Lincoln and Notts County games look very iffy on yesterday's performance, although it should be noted that all League 2 sides are in different ways pretty much crap - or else they wouldn't be there, even the top 2

Like others Reid in, Shipley out, Vincenti to remain but Baker if well on the subs bench to replace him. A Baker-Reid combined introduction maybe too radical defensively

A win at Newport was always a big ask. At home, they’ve not been beaten by anyone on the top 7. So it was a decent result. It hasn’t cost us anything because results went our way, and we’ve closed the gap on Exeter. In the next 3, I think we need 7pts, wins v Yeovil and Crawley, and a draw at Notts County puts us in good stead.

Even down the line, Cheltenham and Notts County lost. We could be heading to a Notts County with 1 win 6. We should be looking at a draw here minimum. As for Lincoln, they’re a threat, but with home advantage I fancy us for all 3pts. In the last 8, we’ve only dropped points to Accrington and Luton.

Now concerned- We play worse when its wet and claggy - rained pretty well continuously yesterday and now again today and the Ricoh will be back to Accrington level mud for Monday

Whilst its true yesterday can be seen as a missed opporunrity it also means that its 1 less win needed to get autos

6 wins from 8 before

Now 5 wins from 7

It has not got any harder. In fact we are in same position but with a trixky fixture out od the way

and if you extrapolate the points per game for the last 5 games over the remainder of the season we will finish in the automatics.

It’s not going to happen. Again, let’s just make sure we get into the playoffs, we cocked up with the automatic places.

So your guessing thats the instruction then because you love burge? Even if it was robins orders he never finds a man so its still shit.
He finds his man most times. He is obviously instructed to kick to the touch line onto the head of a big man. Yesterday that was Vincenti who he found several times. His kicking can be poor and he needs to improve but that shouldn’t blind people to the good things he does.

Biamou’s finish was far from easy. He had to connect right with a dropping ball, not an easy technique, and slot it into the narrow gap between the post and the keeper. Give credit where it is due. Likewise the shot that Haynes had at the end of the first half looked a half decent effort that drifted just wide, at least that was the view from behind the goal.

Newport's recent form ropey - they have slipped back. I had it as a draw as well, but the most winnable one, and I suspect we need 6-2 for the autos, not my 5-3.. The killer, Oti's insistence notwithstanding, was Notts County's failure to beat Wycombe. We now have 7 rather than 8 games to close the gap on Wycombe, easy in a relegation dogfight where teams usually drop points, but not in a promotion race. On current form Notts County may be in a fight for a top 7 finish, so had they scraped a 1-0 win in what was apparently a crap game, that would have been the best result
