I thought on the whole the ref was excellent tonight, only decisions he got wrong were not awarding us a penalty for handball and not giving a straight red card for the foul on Simms.
I thought it he only mitigation for the Simms one was that Ruddy was well out his goal and may have just about cleared it before Simms got a shot off. But I really need to see it again

Really pleased with the performance tonight, but I can't help but be worried about how many chances we're wasting. Are we ever going to have a match where we can say, we created a lot and we scored a lot.

Bit more composure needed from Hadji Wright. Bidwell class again along with the back 2, O Hare MotM, as for Rooneys interview WTAF

Think it was only the handball he got wrong wasn't it? And at least he didn't fall for their dive, so that balanced it out a little bit.
Doesnt balance it really, doing His job properly and getting something right doesn’t offset getting the handball wrong.

Neither of those Wright chances were clear cut, certainly not the header Kate on.
Thought the header was a harder chance as there was no pace on the cross, the best cross of the night was that one from Bidwell a superb cross, just needed a decent striker on the end of it.

Heard Vincent Kompany was in the stands keeping tabs on COH for a Jan bid. Not sure if true. Guess he must have been pleased with what he saw.

I think you’ve just summed up how disingenuous our views on refs are - two massive decisions wrong, but we still won, so he was “excellent on the whole”

Rooney’s post-match analysis sounds like the kind of stream of consciousness you could lift straight from one of our match threads when we’ve lost:

Birmingham City boss Wayne Rooney told BBC Radio WM:

"We have to be better defending in the box. We're conceding too many goals.

"We had two players marking one man in the area. We can't keep doing that.

"And we were snatching at shots from 20-25 yards, when all the work we have been doing is about probing and trying to to get in the box.

"Also our set-piece delivery wasn't good enough."

And yet we should still get a letter of apology for the missed handball / penalty.
Bloody hell you won’t get an apology for a missed hand ball , those will happen in loads of games across the football league today, we need VAR in the championship.

Love how it's gone from sakamoto not really belonging to our previous system and looking like a pointless signing to now being one of the best players in the team and vital to our season
Him and MVE down the right will be fantastic. Called it mate. Think Bidwell and Wright down the left is decent too tbh.

Fun game to go to on a Friday night, made sweeter by the fact one of my close mates who supports blues was there in the away end, I asked him to look after the toilets this time.

Their record against us now is poor nowadays, getting home was a nightmare and took the shine off a tad. Thought everyone did well, bidwell, sakamoto, sheaf, ewijk and of course O'Hare were great, but i was pretty concerned by Wright, he had a few good one touch moments, but mostly struggled, I was desperate for him to do well in that game, happy for O'Hare of course.

The directors box was virtually empty again, no idea why it’s been like this for the last few games so I would have seen him if he was there as I sit in block B right next to it.

Missed the game as was out. Did Simms have a shot on target? Bbc says he planted a header straight at Ruddy but I had a bet builder with 365 and they said he didn't have a shot on target.

Only one that let me down
