I’m looking forward to the game , we have to turn the corner at some point and mysteriously our best performances have come in evening kick offs.
For me, I want to see a pumped up Wright in for EMC and Bidwell in for Dasilva. I’d perhaps start with Simms but any sign of his recent timidity and I’d get Stormin Norman on.
I’m dreading it TBH

5-0 loss, someone runs on the pitch to shout at the players, players to sulk and Lats to continue being an absolute donkey. Robins gone by Wednesday.

I think if you're playing a 343 then you can't have Rudoni in a midfield two.

Nearly put him at RW instead of Saka but as he's played every game I thought he could maybe do with a rest.
I don’t think 343 is the answer.

Get back to the 4231 that worked last season. Milan and Saka on the right Wright on the left. Rudoni isn’t O’Hare though, he’s better at passing and worse at dribbling, IMO he’s better deeper so more 433. I’d play Eccles on the left of the three to free up Wright from defensive duties maybe.

The striker, left back and left centre back are the only real questions for me. The rest just need a proper game plan to learn. Not sure there is one though.

It has to be a minimum of 4 points this week and if not it would be fair that questions would need to be asked.

Eustace has Blackburn purring. We’re at home but we’re in rabbit in headlight mode. We’ve just got to play our strongest team.
Dovin
MVE Binks Kitching Bidwell
Eccles Sheaf Rudoni
Saka Bassette Wright

Bassette for Simms purely looking at their CH’s.

Back to basics, 4-4-fucking 2
Get Saka on the left and EMC on the right, beat the full backs and get crosses in for Wright and Simms, easy!

Dovin
MVE Thomas Binks Bidwell
EMC Eccles Sheaf Sakamoto
Simms Wright

Van Erwijk Thomas Binks Bidwell
Eccles Rudoni
Torp
Sakamoto Thomas-Asante Bassette

Sheaf on for last 30
Thomas-Asante looks much better centrally and Bassette seems naturally to move to the left.
Sakamoto is one of the few players who doesn't give the ball away carelessly at the moment.

The system needs changing. It just isn't working.

Both wingers (regardless of who's been there) have been totally ineffective and left the full backs exposed.

Striker, far too isolated every time.

Rudoni, totally pointless him playing if he isn't getting on the ball.

0-2. Another abject performance. Not sure what happens then with robins.

Anyone would run around more than Simms did yesterday.

Tuesday has to be treated like a cup final, anything less than 3 points and I fear the atmosphere could turn nasty towards the players.

If we do win, (big if) I don't want the players coming over to the fans and giving it the big celebration, just fuck off and win again Saturday.
Simms was on his own, as he has been for every game. Same for Basette, when he played alone. It doesn't work. You need Wright on the left, to get near Simms..It was exactly the same last year, until Robins played, the 2 together, then it clicked. Play Assante on the right, Saka still recovering, physically and mentally. Those 3 scored over 50 goals, last year. More direct, those 3 would cause chaos

So the system needs to change imo. Not suiting players and attacking wise carrying no threat.

Both of these games are good times to change. Both decent teams but feel we can expect more freedom at home.

So on that note, I’d try a 5-3-2. I know people who groan but let’s try and keep the ball around and build triangles throughout the pitch with our Cbs acting as an additional option. High press the other teams to try and suffocate them. Would ban long balls so no one just gives the ball away lol. Let’s try and go back to our league one days in our clever possession pass and move after all if teams don’t have the ball we don’t concede

Dolvin
Binks - Kitching - Thomas
Dasilva - Sheaf - Milan/Sakamoto
Eccles - Rudoni
BTA - Simms

We will come out the blocks fast and well up for it. A period of chance after chance being missed before conceding a scrappy goal. Fans lose their heads. Players booed off at half time and the second half becomes a damp squid.

Matters made worse the moment McFadzean comes on with a few minutes to go for his first minutes of the season and sees out a 1-0 Blackburn win. I can then sit back and watch everyone spend the next few days adamant that McFadzean should have stayed and would be starting every match.
