He was making clearances when we looked under pressure and was streets ahead of Thomas.

Thought both were poor but were protected quite well, certainly first half. Fuck it a win and a clean sheet.

First half jittery, our ferocious goal getter Bidwell settled the nerves a bit, but not until the second went in did we play with full confidence, what a difference a day ( or two ) makes

He was awful first half with some terrible passes which could have cost us a couple of goals. Some late improvement.
Thomas was actually fairly quiet.

There was a spell of pressure in the 2nd half where he cleared 3 consecutive balls into the box.
If we're talking distribution then wasn't great from all the back 4 but first priority was the clean sheet

Well, that was certainly a lot more enjoyable. Thought Blackburn played right into our hands, perfect team for us to play against. Wright looked a different player to Swansea, really impressed with BTA and the midfield was top class.

Didn't get to watch or listen tonight, but from what I've been told it was much, much better. And it really needed to be after recent performances.

Hopefully that's the standard set for ourselves now, and we can follow that up this weekend with similar. Nice feeling to end a game on a positive, hope there's more to come.

Absolutely thrilled by that.

Not even a lucky one nil win, but a well-fought, much deserved, quality performance.

I'll probably break the forum, but I thought Sheaf made a massive difference. Having someone to help Eccles, who's had to do it by himself so far, made us resilient. Honourable mentions to Bidwell, Wright, BTA. I do also think Wilson set an example with his bravery.

Something to build on and have some confidence going forwards. Feeling much better.

Well protecting is their main job.
Distribution wise the whole defence wasn't great, even MVE

I don’t think defensively Thomas and Kitching or Bidwell are particularly great. Bidwells use of the ball is criminal. None of them ever seem to make a tackle. They’re good defending their box but shaky as anything being run at.

Dominant performance albeit not perfect

I thought sheaf rudoni and bta were all so so good. Wright did really well too

Bta made that's econd goal with his work rate. Although dolan helped too!! Happy for emc to get an assist too.

The standards been set now. We must out that effort and fight in week in week out. And subs need to step up when they come on too.

Women being held accountable for the role they are paid to do is misogyny now. Can’t treat them the same as everyone else, poor dears.

People banging on about whether they’d fuck Joy or what handbags she’s buy was misogyny. Saying “the performances under this new performance director are shit” isn’t.

One thing we did tonight was clear the ball instead of trying to play out from the back when under attack. It made such a difference as we didn't give then the chance to make a bad pass or poor control. The ball was gone so we couldn't make the silly defensive errors we've seen this season.

Back to what we expect and it was good to see an out of form Simms dropped. We can't carry anyone this season.

Everyone connected with this club just needed that! Stress free, a few goals and three points

Kick on now, win on Saturday and things don’t even look that bad going into the break - PUSB

Glad the players clearly listened to Robins about being braver. There were times in the first half we went long too quickly, but we moved the ball really well in the 2nd and played much better passes to the forwards.
I was impressed with the forward passes. Some of them didn’t come off but you could see what they were trying to do. Eccles in particular.

they moved it a lot quicker aswell

After we scored the second we controlled the pace and tempo of the game brilliantly and you could see players like BTA , EMC , Kitching , and others who have started the season slowly starting to believe in themselves again

You’re right, completely controlled it in the 2nd half. And when they did break we dealt with crosses well and Milan put the clamps on their left winger.

There was a definite pragmatism in our play. We still managed to cock things up in our own half on a regular basis but when we needed to we just put laces through it. I don’t mind it one bit. The biggest myth in the game at the minute is this playing out from the back rubbish. Huge amounts of goals are conceded via this each week and it gives me the screaming shits.
